Scalpers are scum....I was on hold on the ticketmaster website for 2 hrs trying to score anything. No luck, then I shoot over to stubhub and there's already peachcorps pre-sale tickets posted for the 27th and 28th for 10/20x's face value.

We are fortunate enough to have seen an awesome Mt. Jam ABB show and we will see them again at the Peachfest. I'm very grateful for that. It takes the bad taste of these Beacon shows out of my mouth.

Peace and Love, brothers and sisters. Don't feed the scalpers.

excuse my naitivete (and I'm 55 and from Chicago so I'm not very naive) but how do scalpers get all these tix? The Peach Corp presale instructions were very clear that scalpers would be weeded out. And secondly, how do they pick prices like $5588.60? It seems so random in addition to overpriced. How many people in the world can pay over $10 grand for 2 seats? or am I missing something.

I'm assuming many of those on Stub Hub came from Amex presale, which also happened today. As for odd selling prices, the seller determines the price, then Stub Hub adds fees such that the buyer sees an 'all in' price which produces the odd looking numbers .......

Here's just a small sample of what's currently listing on Stub Hub:

This is just SO blatant. All very carefully omitting the specific seat locations, no doubt to avoid having their purchases rescinded. Thanks for screwing legitimate fans out of an opportunity designed for them to get decent seats. I hope none of them sell for anything even close to above face and that these parasites get stuck with everything they bought and end up giving them away!

Stub Hub 162 tickets available Tue
Allman Brothers Band Tickets 28-Oct

Row Section Price per ticket

Its a double whammy. Not only are we getting screwed as fans but we are getting screwed as citizens too - any monies made over face value is taxable income. I wonder how many of these SOBs are declaring these profits? These guys get away with it while the rest of us get hammered with taxes every year.

The one question I have is how many tickets are coming out of the ABB and it's management and hangers on? I see blocks of more than two tickets and supposedly you could only buy two to one show.

I saw a pair of Row AA for 10/28 on StubHub before for $5,500 each. Someone tell me how those seats are already on the market?

This video is about European ticket sales. They send a guy to work undercover at Viagogo. (like Stubhub etc.) Viagogo tells him that the promoters allocates tickets directly to them to sell. If you're interested start at 8 min. where they explain how it works to the undercover guy.

Doesn't surprise me at all. As I've stated the tickets never were offered to fans before they are in the hands of resellers.

Thanks for the video- I would bet my last dollar this is exactly what's going on here as well. Not trying to sound like an old dog but this is not how it was when we saw the original ABB at the Fillmore East back in the day ( we got tickets by MAIL ORDER for the last show, 6-26, late! ). The spirit of Duane and Berry are long, long gone. I remember when the Brothers were the people's band- sadly, this is no more. I only wish that the NYS Attorney General could investigate, prosecute and convict these lowlifes.

"Back in the day" no one heard of scalpers although I'm sure tickets were diverted. But in general waiting in line - for days sometimes - was rewarded with good tickets. No one had a PC or the ability to fill the servers with requests from people at home.

This is a tired and well-worn topic. All this bitching about Stubhub and scalpers. First of all, the ridiculous prices listed are "ask". There is very little chance that anybody will pay deep into 4 digits for even the best seat at the last show (and so what if they did?). So, since these list prices mean nothing, there is no sense getting all worked up about it. People will always pay what the market will bear. That's what the VIP "packages" are about, so the bands can get in on the fact that some people will happily pay several hundred dollars for a good seat. There is no reason to think that the guy paying big bucks for a great seat is any less a fan or unworthy to sit there. All you whiners who want a great seat at a low price can't get in because there is a limit to how many good seats exist. If you are locked out, would you feel better if the people who got the good seats only paid $120? What difference does it make to you? I have bought and sold tickets on Stubhub, not as a scalper looking for a killing (and most scalpers take risk on many shows and lose) but as a good way to dispose of extra tickets and buy ones when I get shut out of the TM sale. I'm glad it exists to satisfy market demand. And I mostly have success here with the Peach Corps presales (Thank you Lana and Rowland!!) and so, apparently, do most of you if you don't give up and pout at 10:05.

Did it ever occur to you that you are getting shut of TM sales because scalpers are grabbing up the tickets?

do you people not understand that scalpers don't even need to go through TM half the time, especially in a place like NYC? They have a direct contact with a venue and I'm sure work out a deal on X percentage of tickets. Everyone makes money that way, fans take the back seat.

That's the problem. It's not a level playing field from the start.

I'm sorry to hear that and I'm sure you are not alone. You may not like it and you are free to pass, but broker sites at least offer an option for you and others who were shut out. If you wait to close to show time, prices come down and even last-minute pick-up in Times Square day-of-show is available. I got lucky with presales (and I see many others here did too), with 2 in the loge for a rescheduled show and went for Gold Package for the "last" show and scored 12th row center. And not on the first try, but around 10:15. Yep, big bucks but happy to have a great seat for what hopefully will be a very special night. No scalpers means no options. I hope you get in somehow.

I agree but not much you can do about it. Say a venue has a guaranteed sell out and then a show where they hope they can maybe, maybe get 50%. They'll be willing to sell some of the guaranteed sold out show tickets if the ticket broker will buy up a large chunk of the other show. Broker will still make money, venue makes money, world goes round for them.
