Lowell is an American treasure. He had more soul in his pinky than most bands had in their collective bodies.

I got on the Feat bandwagon right around the 78/79 timeframe just prior to his passing. Still love the music.

Ive seeded his final gig (Lisner Auditorium June 28, 1979) in the vines section, probably three or four years ago. Now that is an interesting listen, especially because he died just a few hours after the performance.

Here's Lowell explaining his slide style. At one point he contrasts it with Ry Cooder who played the slide on Little Feat's first album which included Willin' because Lowell had hurt his hand.

Fat Man In The Bathtub is the weirdest lyric and favorite song for me of Feat. As far as slide players, Lowell was at the totally other end of the stylistic spectrum from Duane. They both were genius in totally different ways.
