Did you see any tapers of the sound?

Great picture.

And that sure looks like an oxygen tank near Gregg and the Leslie speaker?

Yeah, that's an oxygen tank. Lot of great detail in this incredible photograph! Where can I get a shirt like Oteil's?

Who took the photo? I'd like to know about the camera, exposure and any post work involved.

This shot was taken at the soundboard... directly over Slim's shoulder.. you can actually see his speaker monitors in the lower left and right. So this is Slim's view of the show.

Canon 5D mkII with f2.8 70-200mm
The "paint" look was done with tweaks in Adobe LightRoom and then more Topaz DeNoise and Topaz Clarity plugins in Adobe PhotoShop.

I have been getting many requests for an actual print of this photo, so feel free to PM me if interested.

I usually post really large jpegs here on the forum for the fans - they make great 72 dpi desktops, but the "real" file is about 80 megs (these jpegs are under 1 meg!). These hi-res are poster size images, the jpegs posted here are 1/8 actual size in resolution, and they are lossy jpegs. There is more detail on the hi-res TIFF files. I give the jpegs away to everyone here, feel free to post them anywhere you like. The music is so good, the photos needs to be shared.

Also note that when I make prints for people, I use a pro photo lab that uses Kodak Metallic Endura - which is a silver chemical process paper, not an "ink jet" type print. This silver paper looks awesome for concert photos, and has the brightest color gamut of any photo paper on the market. It has a silver "metallic" look, and the two hardest colors to reproduce look very vibrant... green and orange. Those two colors look dull on glossy ink jet paper. And all other colors like reds and purples really pop. If you had a side by side comparison of metallic paper vs. ink jet paper -- there is not a single person who would pick the ink jet.

These photos are meant to be really big posters at 24" x 36". But note that if you plan on framing it... the frame and glass will cost MORE than the print. When you go big, the pro framing cost goes up fast.

Most popular sizes are 20" x 30" and 24" x 36"

If you would like a print, contact me -- I send them out direct in a tube. I just don't want it to look like I am on here to sell prints... but I got over 12 people who pm'd me already.

One last thing, anyone notice they used a white sheet for the Brotherhood of Light backdrop... and not the electronic version like at the Beacon. The white sheet looks better on photos. The electronic version is brighter, but you "see" the dots on the screen. The white sheet looks more natural.

I love the post work. Gregg, especially, looks like he was painted by Norman Rockwell...
