Wow!
just got an e-mail from Songkick with link to buy tickets for 10/27, 10/28. Clicked the link and I was on ticketnetwork.com
Lots of Orchestra seats for sale as well as Loge and other sections.
I am no smartiepants but I can't imagine that these prime seats come from any place else but the band. So rich folk can now but tickets before fans and the fans will not be offered some of the best seats. This band has come along way from the days of the beloved Sweeties gatherings of where we were able to then go downstairs to some prime seats we purchased from Ticketmaster. Would have been a gracious gesture by the band if these last 2 nights were on sale for all at equal footing. Sad that the last 2 nights are being sold to elite rich folk way ahead of the fans.

Again the management (GREG) slaps us in the face .Not only do they take months to reschedule the final shows from last March ,they add more which devalues all the extra money many people laid out because they announced it was the final run in March. Now of course it isn't, they add 4 new shows for the 2nd time this year billed as they final run. Add to that they again release tickets to secondary markets and or make you buy another CD (that few even listen to CDs anymore just to get to buy the inflated prices for another final run)Of course Greg put out releases to make us wonder if the ABB will go on with new members ,Just in case they think they can do a third final run .What has happened to the spirit Duane started with?. I know times change but there is no other band who plays shows even when the main member ,the man whos name is the band is not there (I know it was a great show with out Greg,???? )But when you decided to pay $200 for a$90 ticket it was to see the whole band for the last time, not someone that only a diehard heard of ,they don't even replace him with the same caliber star . Not even rock and roll Royality pulls this crap .Imagine the Stones going on last month with out Jagger .Or McCarthy or Miley Cyrus for that matter .No they cancel and resceduale within days if not hours .And Im sure logistics is just as crazy if not more for these bands playing stadiums and 50,000 people Bottom line is Greg has jumped the shark ,so much the 2 reasons why this band has endured are leaving...Funny how all this started in March. a few weeks after Greg was hit with a big big wrongful death lawsuit and lost a lot of money suing for the rights to the movie that caused this death which will now never be made . Im glad ABB is going to be finished because I still have the past and the great times to look back at .But Im afaraid the longer they continue most people are getting fed up with the present way they are being screwed and forget that until now we mostly have had a postitive experience .Am I happy im finally getting to use the $500 in tickets in my draw ,YES .But im not happy with the current way things have changed and will join the thousands and think twice about paying top dollar to see ABB without this line up in the future .

This just fuels my theory on how so many tickets were on the resale market immediately. I know people may label me a conspiracy theorist but someone associated with the band is diverting tickets

It could be the venue or ticketmaster too. This isn't unique to an Allman Brothers show, it happens at EVERY concert.

Those are tickets for sale that the brokers intend on buying. They are offering a discount on the huge markup they will charge if you give them money now. Looks to be a 100% markup. They have connections to the ticket sales and can guarantee to get tickets in those sections. They will use your money to go buy tickets and turn a profit. notice they don't list rows just sections. but after tix are on sale expect a 6x to 10x markup.

There is not one single listing of an actual ticket on ticketnetwork for the 2 add on dates. Not one. Just the generic row aa-dd and upper balcony row f-p and lower balcony row blah blah blah. Look at the already sold shows and you will see actual tickets and no aa-dd type listing. Whenever you see those listings displayed that way there are no actual tickets.

"they have connections to ticket sales"

would you agree tht this probably means ABB band members or persons associated with the band that get an allotment of tickets for each show, that they then hand over to a buyer for a nice untaxable cash bonus, probably at a premium to face value, rather than turn them back in to the box office for general resale.

Its probably the same business arangement that every act uses when in town. simple transaction and a win-win for both parties. only the fans trying to score tickets through regular channels get screwed becasue of the small supply of tickets released for sale.

For the record, MSG employees (Beacon & all venues) have access to tickets before they go on sale, Ticketmaster employees have same access, Accounting firm employees have access, PR employees have access, etc, etc. There are thousands of people that have pre-sale access. The band themselves I'm sure have some but I bet they are the fewest.

Some bigwigs might but most MSG employees do not have access before they go on sale

I have purchased tickets held aside by MSG (not big wigs) for several shows from those employees. It's common practice. They were all together in a block.

Years ago, a friend of mine had a roommate who worked for Ticketron and then Ticketmaster (after they bought Ticketron) and she was always able to get us seats in the first 5 rows, usually at or near center stage, at face value.

I don't doubt what you say but I work for MSG and I don't have access to pre sale tickets. The house always sets aside some seats for VIP's etc, but these days the box offices at their properties are essentially Ticketmaster outlets.

Of course the band sells tickets to scalpers, ticket brokers/ticket companies like Stubhub, the one the original poster mentioned, and others.

Who wants to actually pay $380+ for upper balcony seats at the Beacon? Or $650+ for seats in the Loge?

If that's not a lot of money, all I will say is that it must be nice being that rich.

Don't kid yourselves. In NY there are a lot of expense account people who just want to brag they were at the "last show". The same as when Bruce Springsteen plays MSG or NJ - bunch of guys in suits yapping all night or on their Crackberries

Tix on StubHub 2-7 rows behind mine (Center floor, Row S) for the Friday Oct. 24th show are going for up to 7 times face value So you know the final show tickets are going to command ridiculous prices, and it will almost all be secondary market which blows. Certianly not like when I first saw the ABB in 1971 before Duane passed. My ticket was $6.00.
