Hello,
I don't know the difference between the css sold during the shows and the cds sold by this band's mercy site.I was going to treat myself to the 2014 Beacon cds sold by y=the mercy department but would sure appreciate a bit of advise as it is a hefty price.
Folks have been mentioning defects on the cds sold at the show and replacement cds sent to them after. Is this the same company that provides the ABB mercy site with their cds?
Seen well over 150 ABB shows so not a newbie to the band but am clueless about how to hear the Beacon shows after the dates.
Thanks in advance for any info.

I have not bought any of the official live CDs for a couple years.

I wanted to offer something that you may or may not be aware of. There are some wonderful audience recordings of the Beacon shows and lots of other shows that are freely traded. This is how I choose to enjoy the live ABB after the fact. For me it wasn't the issue of spending the money on the official CDs that I didn't like, but to my ears I actually found the sound of the audience recordings better and more consistent than what I was hearing on some of the last official live CDs I had bought.

So if you head to the music area here and enter the vine or trade forum you will see an abundance of great recordings that people share with each other.

The CDs that the band sells on their merch site, and the downloads at abblive.com, are the same as those sold after shows. The only difference is the shows sold on the site usually have corrected any mistakes or unbalanced mixes the engineers don't have time to fix immediately after the show.

Thanks for your feedback.
I am technologically challenged and have no idea what a FLAC is so I have never explored the trading forum but I will do so.I am nervous about the recent thread that said the CDs purchased were of poor quality compared to a Instant Live.

Typically the mix and the sound quality of the Munch CD's is very good, whether you download or buy the CD's. " Instant Live" was a trade name for someone else doing the same thing as Munch.

The issue has been Munch's reputation for horrendous customer service when there are problems

It took Munck awhile to get me my replacement disc for the 3/18 show. When it finally arrived they included another show from the 2009 show at no extra cost. All's well that ends well.

I've since purchased the 3/19 show. I'm pleased with the sound of both shows. I bought the 3/19 from the merchandise link on this site. The disc with the glitch was purchased at the Beacon.

We were all challenged at first. There are tutorials on this site and others about how to download a show and convert the files. I just can't justify paying $25 a show for something I can download for free with no discernible difference. It's another money grab by the ABB. Gov't Mule, for instance charges around $12 for a show

Hey jump on in over in the vines. So many great shows. Don't worry about the flac files, most shows in the vine section are in wav. so just burn and turn. No converting to do.

Once you get comfortable then yes alot of shows in flac format. We are a friendly bunch and will be happy to share and help ya out.

If you look right at the top of the Vines page is a tutorial when you're ready. Welcome to the madness
