I posted this in the Move ON thread below because it fit but someone there said this might generate some funny stories so here is one of my B&P screw ups. Maybe you all have funny stories to tell as well.

Heres a B&P mix up.

I got a B&P from RonB. It came back with magic stamps. Then we traded something and I asked him if I could send the already addressed & stamped mailer to him for another B&P. He kindly accepted. So I put 2 Blanks in the "magic mailer" and put it with some others that needed to be mailed. I was going to get a bigger paper envelope to send the B&P in. I went to the P.O. and apparently grabbed all the mailers and dropped them in the mail box. Forgot all about the magic envelope & B&P until it came back to me in the mail a day or two later. I thought "man that Ron is fast" wow so fast he forgot to tape it up (or he was stingy and didn't want to waste his tape on my package, but I knew better than that).

I reach in and pull out 2 blank discs. I had mailed them to myself and didn't seal the package. Both discs werre there and fine but I wasted my magic stamps. I wanted to get mad at myself but I couldn't help laugh cause it was funny.

Moral to the story if there is one. Go to the P.O. BEFORE you go outback.

Also I get lots of B&Ps with no notes some with no addresses. I don't try to hard to find the people unless I recognize them. So I have a collection of misc. blanks you wouldn't beleive. I never want to use them cause i worry that someone will contaqct me and eventually tell me what show they want.

One more for for the frugal. Good way to save discs. Save all your Jap. Fuji coasters. Then when Oldcoot, Clay, Phillybob or anybody offers up a B&P and says they will pre-burn to Jap. Fujis Just send them your coasters! Don't count on this working more than once w/ each trader though.

jimmy i agree wholeheartedly about "not going outback" first. i've mailed stuff to myself in a haze before....

and i think that it is very, very important to include your screen name and what you what when you b*p someone. otherwise, god knows what they get. I once sent a guy a Bonnie Raitt cd - it was my current b&p, but here he was just a slacker whose b&p didnt get to me till 4 weeks later, he was supposed to get an ABB one disker... he wasnt shy about tellling me that i was an idiot either. real nice guy. it would have been nice if he told me what i wanted, instead of assuming i have everyones screen name cross indexed with their real name and every b&p i had offered!

Yeah I think you mailed some stuff to me in a haze one time before! Sorry, I couldn't resist! Yeah it was a four way B&P. Linnie mails the blanks for someone else but mails them to me instead of the right trader because she used an old mailer that happened to have my address on it. So I think I forwarded it on but if those discs made it back to the right place I'd be amazed or amuzed.

I told this in the other thread. Yesterday I received a bunch of packages (nothing unusual about that), except two of them contained the same show, from the same guy, and they were obviously B&Ps I sent out. Apparently I packaged up two of them (probably on the same night, for all I know). I don't even remember signing up for it.

my personnel favorite is when the bnp doesn't show up and you keep the show forever on you hd. when it does finally show up, you've removed the show and your in the middle of another project. so you have to finish, clear the hd, reload the first, burn, send, etc. very, very frustrating.

about a week ago i had airborne express deliver me a package overnight for a bnp that a guy signed up for 3 months ago and forgot about.

on the other hand, it's all about sharin' the music, and i usually bend over backwards for the bnp'ers getting them there shows. i wish i had a.83 cents for every show that went back on my nickel or my cd's lol

peace ya'll

It must be cabin fever out there. I just burned the second copy of the same BnP for someone. I only realized that after I went to rewrite their address from a list I have because they put the stamp upside down on the bottom left corner of the envelope and I noticed I had sent the same show to them 3 days ago!!! WOW... I know these shows put you on cloud nine.. but this is outside the stratosphere.

I won't mention any names but if you see a reoffer for a freebie for one of the shows I offered there just may be a connection. Phil

Where should I start?

I have some blanks and an envelope from a Sweetie, for a B&P SRV that I sent her as a freebie.

I sent out disc one of a two D. freebie.

Wondered why disc two was in the burner in the morning, but I couldn't find the rest.

I was all pumped to see KCJimmy's return address on an env. even though I hadn't sent him anything. Thought I was getting some surprise freebie show.

Turned out it was a B&P I had used a "Magic Stamp" mailer on.

I've never replied twice to a late night offer, but I'm guilty as hell with taking a spot and not realizing I need to send a pack until the kind soul who made the offer reminds me.

I'm trying to fix that, really.

LOL! That was trader was me. I'd forgotten about that.

I've done the stupid mail-it-to-yourself-trick before. I've been fortunate that I've not had too many problems with my b&p's. Of course I lay it out in my offer what I expect, and if someone neglects to include the necessaries, I find it necessary to send back blanks.

Then there was the time I set up a b&p, waited and waited for the blanks to arrive, they never did, but then I got a phantom freebie in the mail... It took a couple of days for it all to click into place...

Out of all the transactions I've been involved in from this site, I've only had one that didn't pan out, and I'll never trade with that person again. Otherwise, it's generally pretty good. Unless a bunch of newbies tick me off...

I once forgot to post my return envelope. The dude was kind enough to cover me. I also sent data disks rather than audio disks as I did not know the difference. Live and learn.

Only been shafted on one trade.

I have one guy who has done 5 or 6 B&P's with me.

Every tme I put in a note telling him I swapped the data discs he sent for audio.

I don't think he realizes that I don't want him sending any more data!

Send AUDIO next time, dude.
