Ok so I wanted to add to a list of songs that always make me drive too fast on the curvy & hilly country roads. I did a google search and found several lists full of cRAP songs. One did have Jessica which reminded me I should have been searcing in a more "like minded" environment.

I started with these:

1. Highway Star - Deep Purple
2. Frankenstein - Edgar Winter
3. Radar Love - Golden Earing

and added Jessica plus a few others after searching though the cRAP lists.

So what songs make the fine folks on HTW drive fast?

Someone here will say I drive too fast whether music is on or not! These really get me going:

Clash, any Clash will do, but I'm So Bored w/ the USA is the best.
U2, Where the Streets Have No Name. Reminds me of racetracks.
Springsteen, Hard to Be a Saint in the City. Racing in the Streets is more obvious, but Saint fires me up.

I always thought the middle verse of Hendrix doing "Watchtower" included a line stating "there's a cop car in your rear-view mirror."

New Leigh Highway Blues - David Bromberg

In the spring, windows open, volume cranked. Speed/crank - LOL

Saw him last month, at an opera house up in Jim Thorpe - and was treated to him playing this, one of my favorite songs!

A $735.00 speeding ticket outside of Atlanta last June has quelled my desire for unjust speed (and unjust speeding fines). I resist the temptation these days. Some fine tunes in many of these posts! Not that I'm a big fan or anything, but keeping it car-related -that Cake tune about bucket seats and safety belts is a good one!

Hey Jimmy! Music wasn't a factor. This was just a well-designed and methodical southern speed-trap. As many here know, south of Atlanta (Henry County) traffic oft times comes to total stop due to sheer volume of traffic. Once the north-bound traffic starts to flow again, there seems to be a near innate desire to make up for lost time. Realizing this, the Fulton County po-po - right there at my old home town of Hapeville drop the speed limit to something like 50 MPH. After sitting in a virtual parking lot for 45 minutes, many folks (present company) find themselves driving at a typical interstate speed of 70 MPH (+10). When I heard the sirens and sensed the blue lights I looked in my rearview and counted no fewer than 20 motorcycle patrolmen shooting some serious radar love. I was nabbed among great numbers. I guess the extreme fine of $735.00 was a combination special out-of-towner's rate with special consideration of all my prior offenses. These days, folks pass me with a scowl and a finger!
