Check out this site to find out how popular your last name is in the USA.

http://www.pbs.org/pov/pov2001/thesweetestsound/popularityindex.html

Mine was 2466. (Stack)

Current band lineup:
Haynes, # 297
Quinones. #743
Allman, #4390
Johanson, #5338
Burbridge, #13665
Trucks, #46578

Originals:
Betts, #1570
Oakley, #1818

I'm pretty sure I spelled the names correctly.

Be safe,
John

I'm #2216.

The top-ranking ABB member has to be Lamar Williams at #3. Coulda been #1 if he was Lamar Smith.

It's weird to think of you people having actual last names. I think of Ron's last name as "286." Probably aren't many of those in the phone book.

Marley, bet you never knew I had a last name.

Mr. Scammer, Jaimoe was born Johnny Lee Johnson, so he's at #2.

Nelson: #38, not counting as cartoon character first name.
Nilsson: #7,936
Jensson: na
Jenson: #4,823

My great-grandfather Jens Nilsson came from Sweden to America to work building the railroad through the Upper Midwest all the livelong day. After about 3 years he'd saved up enough money to bring over his wife and kids, including my grandfather, Olof Jensson. Up until about 100 years ago, Swedish kids' names took the form of "[Father's first name] + 'son' or 'dotter.' " So, Jens's father's name was "Nils" something, etc. on back.

Somewhere along the line here in the New World, "Nilsson" was anglicized to "Nelson," and the whole family then went by that. It's not known whether this was my great-grandfather's idea or that of the oppressive, antidiversity Anglo-Saxon immigration officials. The Anglos made us speak their language in public places. They made us learn their language in the schools. And they even stripped us of the birthright of our names.

Not that I'm in the US anyway, but I can't believe that my surname (29289) is more common than Butch & Derek's (46578) - mind you, if Derek & Susan carry on producing children like they do, perhaps that will be redressed soon!

Robichaud is surname number 7947 in the USA. Never would have guessed it would be so high on the list.

It could be that Ron! Or all the ancestors that came South from Canada. My Great Grandparents from both sides of the family are from Canada.
