The plethora of songs with Susan on stage forced me to the bar more often than I would have liked. Somebody should be throwing $20 or $40 my way to help defray the costs of the extra beers I felt I needed to get through that difficult part of the evening for me.

Simmer down now, no need for that. Guru, could you explain why Susan forced you to the bar? Why was it a difficult part of the evening? I was there and thought the show to be quite good. Susan's voice had just sounded pretty crisp to me, and she was only on for I think 3 songs.

If the sound of Susan's voice forces one to the depths of despair I can't imagine what the rest of life's curve balls will make one do.

I just made a suggestion.

Perhaps therapy is more appropriate.

Mm, lets see, you had music, fun, friends, and a reason to drink. And that was a problem?

Want Kleenex with that?

Guru,
I thought your post was hilarious... I have actually inquired about similar reimbursement for Susan T appearances.

This place has gotten far too serious. Relax, it was clearly a joke.

All of this whining is really starting to get to me. The entitlement gang (Oh dear, I sense I may have slandered someone/somehow, didn't I?) seem to feel the slightest upsetting of their delicate balance of expectations is just cause for their mom to come immediately running out of the stands with a soothing popsicle for them and a dressing down for the offending cause of their precious seeds disappointment, with immediate retribution and appropriate apologies in short order. Yes, you are right, you are an American and this is not how you should be treated. Does it matter that Gregg is really a lesser player in the overall music structure of the bands playing? NO. You were slighted and now everyone needs to bow to you and help heal your unfathomable pain. You have suffered and you are not getting your due pity. Especially from those mindless enough among us who would have given an appropriately large enough body part to see the show you saw, knowing full well there would be no Gregg. Whizz up another tree please. It's about the music!!!

Surf2be, you have 30 posts in 4 years and you are tired of the whining? Man, you have a very low tolerance level! Where were you when the site blew up when Derek left the DTB band to be with his wife and the TTB? Did that tire you out too? What's with your language? "bow to you and help heal your unfathomable pain"? Do you really talk like that? Damn you need the chill pill.

Guru sounds like a total lightweight. Nobody forced you to buy or drink alcohol. I'm not that into Susan T either but I preferred her as a guest with DTB or just 1-2 songs or zero songs with the ABB.

You are right MM, I need to earn my thin skin by contributing more. I will also try to stick with smaller words.

I've never gone so far as to ask for a refund, but I feel your pain.

Any time I've seen Susan sing with the ABB, my basic thought was "Well, that is 5-10 minutes I'll never get back."

This is part of why I am so surprised that I have often ended up defending the Tedeschi-Trucks Band on this website. Trust me, nobody is more surprised than I am by how much I have enjoyed that band.

I feel this way every time they do a Van Morrison song.

I would definitely like a cost-sharing stipend for the $13 NYC entrance fee I had to pay at the Holland Tunnel.

Geez... how many threads over the years about how people like DTB better than TTB or those who don't care for Susan. I dunno...count me as a fan of Susan, and I'm just guessing that Derek thinks she's quite a musical talent.

The TTB show I saw last fall was powerful, and Susan's vocals were really really good.
