Has anyone else noticed a clicking sound throughout Ain't Wasting Time No More on disc 1 of the 3/19/2014 instant live CD purchased at the show last night? Just wanted to see if anyone had listened to theirs yet and had the same problem or if it's maybe just a problem with my CD before I email Munck Music. Also, might anyone know if they typically send a replacement disc if there are any issues like this? I'm two tracks into disc 2 and that was the only track I noticed the problem with.

It was a really incredible show last night, didn't think I was going to enjoy the Juke Horns, but they really worked well on every song they played, and Trombone Shorty on Dusk Til Dawn was incredible too. I noticed Oteil motioning for the sound guys several times to turn Shorty's mic up, once they did he blew the roof off.

Glad I got to make it to one of these shows.

Thanks,
J

Just finished listening to all 3 discs and this track appears to be the only one with any issues.

I had the same problem with the same song on the 3/7/14 recording. I sent them and email and haven't heard a response. I'll try them again now, but I've been told their customer service sucks. I was just saying this in another thread, but I've become really frustrated with MunckMusic and last night was the first time in years that I didn't buy a CD at the show. To me, the quality has really gone downhill: the sound is fine, but there are more errors than before. I can only think of one songs from the '09 run with a bad track break, and now every single one is off. It's a totally preventable error, or at least I think it is, but they try to put every track break right before the next song begins and it's never right. I'm hearing now that they also do better mixes with better breaks that you can download a day or two after the show. If that's right and it's available for the same price, that stinks. If the instant CDs are lower quality, they shouldn't be the same price.

I noticed the track breaks being a little off on my 3/1 CD from last year's run, but didn't think much of it. It Stoned Me sounds great and was a highlight of the show for me. I got Ain't Wasting Time No More at the 3/1 show last year also so it's not the end of the world, but still it would be good of them to do something about this considering it cost $25. From how it sounds, I guess I shouldn't hold my breath though.

I emailed them also once I finished listening to the entire show, will update this if I hear anything back from them.

Thanks,
J

I don't think the sound quality is as rich as past Instant Live discs. I'll do a listening test later.

I feel for years the drums & percussion have been too low in the mix. But remember, they are 'mixing live' for these and we're getting what they come up with. It's not an easy thing to do. If they had multi-tracks or even stems, it would be nice to be able to go through and rebalance everything.

I do like they way they bring the audience mics up at the beginning and end of the tracks (and between) but drop them down for the majority of the song and get a really nice clear mix (even if the balance is a little off).

Yes, I have had tracking errors and all of that... but the only thing that really bothers me is when they miss the beginning of the first track...

The clicking noise, might be a bad cable or something that they're aware of, but couldn't do anything about it.

I did. They emailed me replacement tracks and an extra show (3/7/12) to make up for the week I spent waiting for them to get back to me.

I always buy the downloads, or I should say I only buy the CDs for shows where there is no download.

If you buy a download, I would advise upgrading to the FLAC files. The MP3s are lower quality. It's not going to be noticeable if all you do is listen on your portable devise, but if you have a good enough set of speakers you'll be glad you purchased the FLAC files.
