I thought I heard Coot*, Slim, Michael & Rose, and me?
Bzzzz.
I'm really sorry to report a change in Sio's plans.
Rose's back is hurting and I need to stay back.
I'm very sorry to miss this. I was really looking forward to seeing everyone.
You have no idea. We're talkin' beer, here.
Hopefully we can schedule a second visit and include all the folks that can't go on the 21st.
Well, crap! |

For a lot of you guys it isn't that big a trip. I'm praying we can schedule another gathering. ____________________

I could come and then you could listen to a sober person.
Really, I would like to be going to Iowa, but as I am now a non-drinker who loves beer, it probably wouldn't be the best idea. I have only the time spent in the Cedar Rapids aiirport as my exposure to Iowa. It would be great to spend time with a few bona fide yahoos.
...and the Exide tour sure is tempting. ____________________

I just read this:
quote: A firecracker you buy from a stand can legally have no more than 50 milligrams of flash powder.
But Kyle Lovelady, a federal explosives expert, has seen illegal fireworks 20 times more powerful — and sometimes far more potent than that.
“When the accident happens, it’s not just ‘I have a burn on my hand,’” Lovelady said. “It’s ‘I don’t have a hand.’”
results can be far worse when something goes wrong in a basement where illegal fireworks are being made.
A Kansas City man died last week after an explosion in his house tore off both legs and one arm. Three years ago in Independence, a garage exploded, killing a man and throwing his body into the backyard of another house.
This time each year, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives begins hearing more reports of illegal fireworks on the street.
Why?
That’s not hard: People like to blow things up.
“There’s something about it,” Lovelady said.

I soon as I read Exide Batteries I instantly thought of Jeff Burton in the #99 car. ____________________ "Live every week like it's Shark Week." - Tracy Jordan |

I got a gross (144) of M-80s from my grandfather for Christmas one year. I blew all kinds of stuff up. Looking back, I would have to say that wasn't the greatest gift idea for a kid, but he liked to blow sh!t up, too.
A couple of things. Did you notice that the guy lived on Tennessee Ave? And, this incident came to mind because it happened in East Tn. It was a big deal at the time.

There is (or was) an Exide plant in Bristol.
Around that same time was Mark Martin in the #6 Viagara car. ____________________
