today. May 2 at Oak Mountain Amphitheater. One of three US dates.

Tickets go on-sale 2/21 for.....$129.50, $99.50 and $75.50....plus the usual fees.

And his band:

Nathan East on bass
Steve Gadd on drums
Chris Stainton on keys
Paul Carrack on second guitar??? Paul Carrack????
and a couple of backup gals...

I'm just not sure I can pull the trigger on that.

Interesting, may mean an Atlanta date will follow.

Carrack is on keys, not guitar. I saw him w/ EC in Feb of '13, and I think he sang two songs, Tempted, and How Long. I had and liked a Squeeze album back in my new wave period, so I liked it. A damn sight better than Tears from Heaven and Wonderful Tonight!

I believe Andy Fairweather Low is on the second guitar.

Tour kicked off last night in Tokyo, the set list and band:

01. Tell The Truth
02. Key To They Highway
03. Pretending
04. Hoochie Coochie Man
05. Honest Man
06. Wonderful Tonight
07. After Midnight
08. Driftin'
09. Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out
10. Alabama Woman
11. Layla
12. Tears In Heaven
13. How Long (Paul Carrack / Vocals)
14. Before You Accuse Me
15 Little Queen Of Spades
16. Crossroads
17. Cocaine
18. High Time We Went (Encore - Paul Carrack / Vocals)

This was Eric's first solo tour of Japan since 2009 (his last visit to the country was in 2011 on a double-bill with Steve Winwood). For this tour, he put together an exciting new band featuring familiar faces from recent tours and some old friends. Joining him on stage are Chris Stainton (keyboards), Paul Carrack (keyboards), Nathan East (bass), Steve Gadd (drums), Michelle John (backing vocals) and Sharon White (backing vocals).

Sounds like a great band! I've been a Paul Carrack fan since I saw Ace ("How Long") open for Yes back in 1975. Did't see Andy Fairweather Low listed above, but he is a very under-rated player. Check out the "Concert for George" concert movie. Lots of known soloists, but it is Andy playing the bulk of lead - though he rarely gets a shot in the film. Damn! I digressed again!

Gov't Mule just played "Tempted" in Mobile on February 15th.

I'm a Paul Carrack fan as well. I saw Squeeze a couple of times in the late 70's, early 80's.

If EC comes to the DC or Richmond area I'll go. I just wish he would play more intimate venues.

Love Nathan East!

When we saw Clapton in 2010, he was the only guitarist. Awesome show.
