Did anyone watch this on VH1 classic over the weekend? I did and thought it was awesome. Ted has a ton of energy. He talked about his influences, people he's played with, etc. There was a segment where they had him rank some of his albums from most favorite to least favorite. He even played a bit during the end of the show. If you have a chance to see it, I highly recommend doing so. I think he's one of the best guests they've had on the show.

I have been a Nugent fan for a long time and when it's all about music I still love him. He's over the top and really loves his own playing and talks a mile a minute which I find entertaining. As long as he keeps the right wing crazy out of it I can get into it. I have this weekend's TMS on DVR. I'll probably watch it tomorrow. Good to know it was an entertaining show.

i think he made 1 political comment and some comments about drugs being a bad choice in life. other than that it was strictly musical. i have met ted before. honestly if you talk to him about music then funny enough he talks about music. the problem now is a lot of shows get him on to talk about politics

IMO Tad is a loudmouth douchebag who was a marginally good musician way back when with a few three chord hit songs. He was never good enough to get the kind of status he gets now IMO. His far right tea party bull$hit makes me sick to my stomach so the very few good three chord songs he wrote just don't sound as good anymore to me. Just can't take all of his anti American bull$hit rhetoric!!! I think he caught Cat Scratch Fever from some pu$$y next door back in the day and it affected his mental capacity to the point of lunicy!

I'll bite on this one. This guy has completely lost his marbles. He uses his bully pulpit to push his right wing lunacy. Had a few good songs back in the day, but man please shut yer trap.

I'm certainly no fan of Ted's politics, but I thought he was wildly overrated before I ever knew a thing about his political views.

I mean, Cat Scratch Fever? Seriously? Wango Tango? Even as a teenage boy I knew better than to think that was good music.

Ted has two good songs: Stranglehold and Journey To The Center Of The Mind. I enjoy those two, always have, but politics aside he is definitely down on the lower echelon, minor leagues of rock history.

Oh he'd be a hero to many around here then.
Butch would probably invite him to the Beacon to do "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang".

It always makes me laugh when people on an ABB forum are critical of Ted for that. Next up someone will throw that whole **** /pissed his pants for two weeks nonsense. Even if it were true which it obviously isn't, I would much prefer to **** myself than shoot myself.

Ted is Ted and you get what you see. I am not big on his rambling nonsense as it unfortunately clouded the fact that he is a real good guitarist. Much better than some here credit him for. Also if you ever get a chance to meet him, he is a real nice guy. Hard for some to believe but it is true. Treats his fans very well.

Oh the irony of him being called a draft dodger on an Allman Brothers Band site.

Also, anti-American?

Either way, I don't care when any artist goes overboard with their politics and try to ignore it from both sides of the Neil Young/Ted Nugent coin, however his appearance on That Metal Show was great.

How bout a little love for the Motor City Madman ? Sure Teddy's over the top, and his schtick sometimes borders on self-parody, but is he any less of a buffoon than some of the left-wing liberals who feel that the fact that they can play an instrument qualifies them as an expert in political, sociological, and ideological discourse ? Oh wait, he likes to hunt, so that qualifies him as the Ant-Christ if he wasn't already, right ? All I know is that the 3 times that I saw the Nuge, he rocked, and the last of the 3 , with him opening for Black Sabbath at the old Civic Arena in Pittsburgh when Sabbath was touring to support Sabotage, was one of the best hard rock shows I ever saw. Plus , anyone who got a speeding ticket for doing 85 MPH on the Fisher Freeway in Detroit, in reverse, can't be all bad. If nothing else, give him and the Amboy Dukes some props for Journey To The Center Of The Mind.

Just watched the episode this morning. Uncle Ted was hysterical. And as much as he loves his own playing, he was equally flattering to all the musicians he mentioned who were in and out of his band over the years and he gave credit to Chuck Berry about 500 times during the hour, plus Bo Diddley, James Brown, Howlin' Wolf and others. So his ego isn't as big as he puts on, he knows from whence he came and gives credit where it's due.

When he started playing guitar at the end I thought to myself, he better not play anything familiar because the show can't afford lol. He's 65 and looks like he's in great health, his mind is sharp, and his hand were flying. If he could stop bringing up politics in concert, I'd go see him again.

If Tad was as far to the left radical as he is to the right then I would dislike him just as much. He is a friggin' lunatic IMO. Once he brought a machine gun on stage for one of his shows and started egging on his audience telling them that Obama and Hilary Clinton should put the machine gun in their mouths and suck on it. That was it for me. IMO he should have had to answer to the athourities for that.

I remember that. Pretty tasteless & not what one would expect to see at a concert.

I don't care what his politics are. I'm not a big fan of his guitar work.
