Why is it okay for these PEACH CORPS presale tickets to be sold out already and HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS OF TICKETS ON SALE ON STUBHUB!!!! The March 25, 26, 28, 29 shows went on PRESALE for PEACH CORP MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING yesterday morning and they are sold out. I spent money on the CD to get the presale code but NO TICKETS ARE LEFT! THEY AREN'T EVEN ON REGULAR SALE YET AND THEY ARE ALL OVER STUB HUB! WHY IS THIS OKAY?!?!?!?! I AM A TRUE ALLMAN BROTHERS FAN AND I CAN'T EVEN GET A SINGLE TICKET FOR THE BEACON RUN...TRYING TO DO IT THE RIGHT AND FAIR WAY!!!!!!!!!! I LIVE FOR THE BEACON SHOWS AND I CAN'T GO?!?!? THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

Not necessarily....

I have read lots of articles about how bands routinely (and quietly!) release tickets directly to the secondary market ahead of time in order to make more money.

I'm not saying the ABB does that necessarily, but it seems to be a pretty common practice in the industry sadly.

Remember - no matter how much we the fans like to think it's about the music, it really isnt. It's a business.

Becky, where were you at 10 am yesterday? If you were not in front of a computer searching tix, you didn't do it right.

PS, no doubt some of the SH listings came from the AMEX sale from last night at 6.

My wife and I both tryed our pre-sale at the start and we were shut out from presale.
Thank God I had second chance with my Amex..or we wouldn't have tic's for 29th.
So I don't think even if you sat in front of your computer at 10am would have necessarily helped.

I ended up buying four singles for the 29th through the ABB presale. First one was purchased around 10:20 and the last one around 10:45. Obviously I would have preferred to have gotten tickets together but I'll figure it out later.

I had no trouble getting tickets in the Peach presale or the Amex presale. Got the tix for the exact days I wanted and it was fairly easy, just took some time and patience hitting the "search again" button.

All of my tickets were purchased between 10:15 and 10:45 am.

It seems like all you needed to do was take an hour out of your day and keep trying. People who did that but still ended up with nothing were probably just very very unlucky -- but I'm guessing that most folks just didn't try hard or long enough. Lots of good tickets were definitely there.

Guess you ARE pretty lucky...because exactly at 10am when tkts became avail, I was on--and kept at it for 20 minutes. I couldn't get ANY (2) tix (general, amex--even the pkg's were not avail at insane $$)
Never got the POG for first OR 2nd Presale (and have been a Peach Corps member since '04), I begged for the password to no avail.
So, once again...I will be sitting at this computer with the site up and ready to go tomorrow morning @ 10am, in the hopes that I can get 2 tix. We've gone at least one Sat. nite (and usually one other night) for the past 15 years.
Will be very sad if we don't get to go this year, especially with the announcement made by Warren and Derek.

I will not pay scalper's prices on Stub Hub. No way, no how.

Seems like everybody has had different levels of success or failure. I tried like the devil starting at 10:00AM yesterday and about a half hour into it, I scored two seats for 3/26. Not what I exactly wanted, so I spent another hour hitting "search again" for the 3/29 show, but to no avail. I am not a slouch with a computer and know how to work a presale.

Checked Stubhub and behold there were already over 100 tickets - tickets intended for Peach Corp Members to attend the Beacon event - on sale for the new dates. By this morning, there were over 1,100 tickets on for sale on Stub Hub.

By my calculations, scalpers were able to scoop up around 60% of the combined presale tickets available. For the Peach Corp presale event, I estimate that 75% of the available tickets went to scalpers.

Lana made every effort to ensure those tickets made it into Peach Corp members hands to attend the shows. Regardless of her efforts, the majority of the tickets still wound up in scalpers hands. Many of the members that needed tickets will go without because a group of greedy people had the resources to rule Ticketmaster's system. Some tickets have an $11,000 price tag on them and I think that is down right criminal.

I feel kind of guilty because, after a few "High Demand" and "No tickets match your search..." messages, I was offered 2 in Row X so I bought them at around 10:10. Sorry others weren't as fortunate. There are currently a LOT of tickets on StubHub at some crazy prices. Patience might pay off and the sellers might not get what they seem to think they will, especially for balcony seats.

I was on at 10 a.m. and was completely shut out until around 10:15 where I was able to get a pair in the loge for the 26th, a pair in the balcony for the 27th and at 10:45 a pair in the orchestra far right for the 29th. I guess it was just dumb luck. I agree that scalpers should not be allowed to access these presales but I am sure they signed up years ago and paid others to do the same. In the old days scalpers used to pay teenagers a single ticket if they stayed out all night at MSG and purchased 6 tickets for the scalpers. Now its all done with a computer. Welcome to the 21st century.

Congradulations! You are even luckier than you imagined as my favorite musician Col.Bruce Hampton has 3/28 set aside to come to the Big Apple. I expect this will be the last time we will see him be a guest vocalist with the Brothers what with his disciples Derek and Oteil leaving.
You are in for a very special treat!

Don't feel guilty, you tried hard to get tickets for your hard earned money and Row X is cool. I like the very back rows because I don't have to worry as much about harming my hearing like the closer rows. Enjoy yourself! Depending what night you got I may be your happy, rocking" neighbor.

Keep trying everybody. More tickets will become available at some point. Stranger things have happened... According to the Fox ticket office, I purchased the last available seat in the house for Gregg's Celebration in Atlanta. The thing is I didn't buy the ticket until the morning of the event. In a moment of desperation, I tried one of the old fashioned ways to buy tickets - directly from the box office - and it worked.

The show was sold out from day one, but after the announcement of Derek's and Warren's plans, folks were scrambling to find tickets. Online scalpers even ran out of tickets before the event. There were a few scalpers at the Fox selling tickets for thousands of dollars and folks were buying them.

Pretty f'ing crazy, but the show was magical. The ABB set was short, but Dreams, Midnight Rider, and Whipping Post never sounded better (at least in my book). The songs are masterpieces in themselves, but the band took them to another level that night. Maybe I had some help to feel that way with the "refreshments" I brought along... LOL.

One thing that has amazed me lately is talking to younger ABB fans in their late teens, early twenties. When asking about their favorite song, I expect to hear more simple songs like Melissa, Midnight Rider, Rambling Man, etc. Instead, I hear responses like Revival, Mountain Jam, Aint My Cross to Bear, Whipping Post, Jessica etc. Pretty deep songs for young folks when you consider all the garbage music they are exposed to. I don't know, but to me, it is good to know that there is a next generation of fans that will make sure these songs live on.

Instead of rambling here, I should be on ticketmaster hitting that terrible "search again" button over and over again...

Later.

Just my two cents ...... I highly doubt that the ABB is releasing tickets to the secondary market for resale at a higher price. Why would they do that when they're selling more and more of their tickets under Gold packages for $500 and Silver Packages for $225 ?? I hate to rain on anyone's parade, but the pre-hospitality parties and "collectible" items which are included, are no where near the incremental price being added to those tickets ......it's high profit margin add ons for the band. I'm not commenting on that practice (although I think it is fairly obvious why it is done) ......I'm just saying when you're doing that, you don't need to release tickets and try to sell them for a higher profit in the secondary market .......

I think ALL bands do it, but none will admit it.

You had to purchase the upcoming release, Play All Night, in order to receive the code.

The internet went down at work right at 10am, I was trying to be as quietly furious as possible, and managed to buy tickets after about 30 minutes.

Not defending the process, but something else to remember, Ticketmaster is still a website and can only handle so much traffic at once. When tickets go on sale at a certain time, it will take a while for the traffic to die down and get through. There will be more tickets available, hope everyone who wants them can get them reasonably.

Good post Nebish. I figure the Beacon run ticket distribution follows about the same pattern, especially for the final shows.

Scalpers already control around 15% of the total seats available each night. After the public sale, I imagine that number will increase to over 20%. Another way to look at it is this, by the time all is said and done, scalpers will have control of enough tickets to fill the Beacon for a night!!

By my calculations, and I could be off, scalpers scooped up around 70%-80% of the available Peach Corp presale tickets, which I think is shameful because the band was pretty clear this was not supposed to happen.

It is interesting how the consumer protection laws work in this arena. Anti-trust laws are in place to prevent business from selling goods to consumers at prices too far below market value. The law prevents consumers from getting a BETTER DEAL from one business because it hurts the profits of competitors.

What's going on with the Beacon shows, and the other hot concerts, is artificial inflation. Businesses take control of a particular supply and then inflate the price to create an enormous profit. Are there laws to prevent this from happening? Of course not.

Forgot to mention the f*(ked up part for us is how difficult and expensive they made it for us to raise a beer or a joint and enjoy the band and music we love so much. A year ago, nobody gave a damn and we quietly (quiet in the sense of media attention) did our thing without big business getting involved. Amen.
