I'm going to one last ABB Beacon show, and I'm curious what you all think will be a more "special" date - 3/26 or 3/29?

Thoughts?

No inside info but my guess is 3/26... at 40th, it was the only night they had no guests.. and it was my favorite.

Since this might be the very last Beacon Theatre run EVER as we've come to know it, each and every show will be EXTRA special in my opinion. I'm looking for the roof to blow off numerous times as usual and the emotional exploration of the band under these particular circumstances to be at an all time high. I've been reading so much negativity and so many sarcastic posts lately about the future of the band here, it's really quite disheartening and pretty annoying really. This is a time of celebration not a time a time of judgement. These players have given us all they've had for the past 14 years or so and left us with more memories than we can count. Just enjoy this run with no pre-conceived notions, because you may never see this magical lineup again. They are a gift - each and every one of them.

Is the Anniversary show 3/25 or 3/26?

they haven't officially named a show as their Anniversary Show, but 3/26 is the date they consider their start date in 1969.

Jambands was reporting that a single anniversary show was being added and that it was 3/25. Turns out 4 shows were added and none were called anything separate from the others.

What a waste of my friggin' time, That code thing worked great? Best available was 0 Tickets available. I look forward to the CD.

For **** z & giggles I went to the Silver package (the cheapest of the elite) to scope availability and for$225+ perand I could've gotten Row Q. No wonder I can't get a decent seat (or any for that matter?)

I just don't feel warm and fuzzy?

What show did you try? I still see tickets available for 3/26. It took about 5 minutes post onsale for the good stuff to be released.

Futile......I'm on night shift for the 25 & 26th, so I was trying for the 28 & 29th shows. I had 2 windows open and alternated. After seeing the positive stories, I went back and kept trying, It seems to have sucking another 20 min's out of my life? I'll give it 2 min's and try one last time.

We got 2 sets of tix - for the 26th and 29th! Bases covered.

All in all, getting locked out of the first sale paid off for us big time, in the long run!

I picked 3/26 for my 4th and last show of the run. Went via the AMEX as I used the first 3 up in the Peach Corps sales. Looking forward to March!

The 26th will be epic! If I had to pick 1 show for the entire run it would be the 26th,

I expect the 29th to be almost melodramatic. My guess is the band won't have much left after 13 shows and all the emotion associated with the last show with this lineup at The Beacon.

All their energy will build and I expect the band to reach their peak for the 45th anniversary show on the 26th. The crowd will be pumped and the band will feed off their energy like no other show. This will be the show people talk about years later just like we still talk about 3/26/09.

With Dickey breaking the thaw last year w/ TTB. I strongly believe Dickey will make an appearance. The question is given the signifcance of the 26th, does he appear then?

Just a thought

WHEW! It was tough but my patience paid off! Got a pair of tickets for 3/26 via Peach Corp this morning. During AMEX sale I got 1 for 3/25 and 2 seats for 3/29. I will be attending 5 shows this year. I enjoy living on the Upper West Side all the time, but I LOVE it in March. Woo-hoo!!!

As a fellow Upper West Sider, I agree, March is a great time in the hood - just seeing that Beacon Theatre Allman Brothers marquee every day is a good thing :-)
