Sorry if this has been answered but i can't find anything searching...

Is there going to be a re-release of the 4CD deluxe edition of B&S? For that matter why was it packaged that way instead of 2 releases (2CD deluxe + 2CD live)?
How many were pressed? It sure went fast.

I've picked up on threads something about Greg not wanting Duane era shows released anymore. So, this explains why the archive shows stopped, but WHY? I don't understand.

again sorry if these are common knowledge

I recall Joe Bell from HTN saying fairly recently that there would be no further pressings of the super deluxe B&S. I am in the same boat as you, never having gotten around to ordering it. I have even considered the MP3 version for $28.49:

Maybe if you edit your thread title w/ some specificity, it might have a better chance of attracting his attention for further details.

Not all the 4CD sets (US and Japan version) are currently offered at ridiculous prices on sites like Ebay. Sometimes the sellers are asking hundreds of bucks just like the first edition of the Skydog boxset last year. But every now and then they are offered at a more reasonable price. Depends of course how much you wanna spend on the B&S Deluxe set. Check sites like ebay regularly and with patience.

Can someone who has both the Deuxe edition and the Capt Skipper version of the Winterland show tell me how much diiference there is in sound quality? Same question for anyone who has both the Deluxe EAT A Peach and the Capt Skipper 6/27/71 show. Is the sound quality of the live shows alone worth the price of the Deluxe Sets?

http://www.hittinthenote.com/cart/p-1543-the-allman-brothers-bandbrbrothers -and-sistersbr40th-anniversary-re-issue.aspx

You still can get what in my opinion is the strongest disc in the four disc Super Deluxe Edition. Click on the link above. First they offer the original record remaster either on vinyl or CD. Scroll down and you'll find the Deluxe Edition (as opposed to SUPER Deluxe), which contains the original Brothers and Sisters remaster and another disc called Rehearsals, Jams and Outtakes. I want to tell you, Rehearsals, Jams and Outtakes will blow ANY ABB fan's mind!!

I play it all the time, both at home and in my car. This two disc package is WELL worth the $25, in fact disc two alone is well worth $25. If you want to hear Gregg singing the blues in his absolute prime as a vocalist, if you want to hear him wail on the B-3 like you maybe never have, if you want to hear the band really cry the blues, Rehearsals, Jams and Outtakes is a disc that you MUST have. Not only that, you get the 16:30 minute A Minor Jam which does not included Gregg or Dickey but is Butch, Jaimoe, Chuck and Lamar along with Les Dudek on guitar. This is some really heavy, out there, improvisational jazz. I knew what Chuck could do but he amazes me on this and it also gave me a new respect for Les Dudek. You'll miss the Winterland show which is VERY good, but if you never got the Super Deluxe Edition you MUST pick up the Deluxe Edition.
