He rarely gets mentioned or discussed here.
If this is the end of the ABB, what about Marc?
Wonder who he'll end up with when/if it's over and the smoke clears.

A very valuable percussionist indeed and doesn't get the credit he deserves, I might add.

I wouldn't be surprised if this gets completely ignored.

Hopefully he owns a couple Taco Bells and will look back at this as a great ride he was fortunate enough to be part of. Someone used the term "Wall of Percussion" and i am in the camp where less is more in that regard. I would love to hear a set without all the relentless hammering on the bongos.

I was kind of wondering the same thing, lots of comments about the other six band members in the last week.

Marc was scheduled to play at X-Mas Jam and didn't show up. Something about a missed flight and it barely caused a ripple on the site.

Could that have been the tip of the iceberg? A lot has gone down in the last month. (Total speculation on my part of course)

What about Marc?

He's an awesome percussionist and integral to the sound since 1991. I love him.

I'm assuming he's still with the band. Why would he leave?

Marc is awesome and that Wall of Percussion is why this band sounds better than any other.

Moron.

I expect Marc's career will keep going the same way it has: he does a lot of session work and is very active in the salsa and Latin music scenes. I wouldn't expect him to join another rock/jam-type band if the ABB isn't touring anymore.

I read about a year ago or so that Widespread Panic was interested in getting Marc
in the band. Had something to do with their current percussionist Ortiz and
reoccurring back problems.

So if the ABB is really going to be No more, then I think Marc would be a Great fit with WSP.

Agree with Marley.
That other comment was totally uncalled for.
Lots of respect for Marc and what he does.

I absolutely agree. They are an unstoppable force. And I love the accents he adds to the songs. I saw him with Gregg Allman & Friends in Atlantic City last fall and he was a very welcome addition.

The Taco Bell comment notwithstanding, I've always dug Marc's work, especially with brother J hitting the skins about 6 times per every five minutes sometimes. One of these days we're going to look over and see Jaimoe eating a sandwich in the middle of "Dreams."

And I'd suspect this might continue. In addition, with his skills and name recognition, I'm sure other recording / touring acts would be more than pleased to have him on board.

Marc is a great guy. He use to come in my art gallery all the time. He is highly respected in the latin music world.
He made a lot of money playing with the ABB and will have no issues moving on.

Hes also a great softball player

Peace marc

I'd accuse you of being a blasphemer if I had not had the same thoughts about Jaimoe over the years! Still, that Jassz Band CD is my favorite of all the family bands' music over the last 5 or more yrs.

Oh yeah, Marc is great and appreciated by me.

Ran into Marc Tuesday at The Big House. SUPER cool dude. He'll stay busy. He's too good to be sitting on his hands at the house.

I really like what Marc did w/Butchie in Frogwings too -- both of them you can really hear & that is one slammin show (Croakin' at Toad's) -- Derek & Jimmy, Oteil, Kofi -- would really love to see this gig come back some day
