Here is a great tune from his last album, Black Eye Galaxy. Anders is currently playing with Phil Lesh and Friends. They are doing plenty of Dead tunes along with songs from the Stones, Skynyrd, Neil Young & Clapton. Hopefully they will do some Little Feat tunes. I think Anders will do justice to some Lowell George.

Black Tar from the black eye galaxy album came up on the ipod on my way to work today and it is a powerful song. I am gaining a greater appreciation for Anders the more I listen.

Black Eye Galaxy isn't his most recent album, there have been two released this year and both are great. There was the Three Free Amigos EP that came out earlier this year and Peace that came out last month.

I am trying to get into Anders Osborne - particularly his more rockin' stuff. Does anyone have a particular album or tunes I should target?

Glad to see some support for Anders. His live shows, since he got clean 2009 to now, just keep getting better. Lot's of live recordings available on etree and many available thru folks on his Fan Club page on Facebook. All of his official releases since 2010 are great, American Patchwork, Black Eyed Galaxy, 3 Free Amigos, Peace. Going further back into his catalog, you can see his development and there are many songs from his earlier years that he still performs live. He had a great band back in early/mid 2000's, with Kirk Joseph on Sousaphone and Tim Green on sax and his current drummer Eric Bolivar. They were unique and great, but it was also the period he was most plagued with his demons. There's a live record from Tipitina's from that period, recorded in 2006. The shows with Phil Lesh are fun, but seek out his own shows.

Definitely see Anders live! This is possibly my favorite Cortez, from Bear Creek 2011. Even a talky/grabby, stoned acquaintance of an acquaintance couldn't ruin the experience...

Holy crap.............what an absolutely mindblowing song! Fell in love with it right away. After streaming it 3 times i couldn't resist ordering "Black Eye Galaxy" right away. Damn, i love it when i "discover something new to my ears". Thanks a million. Just googled and "ebay searched" Anders Osborne and he has a truckload of CDs so i'm afraid i gonna spend plenty of euros buying his stuff. When there's really a click between me and new music i discover i go into "collector's mode" and start tracking stuff down. So thanks.....this post gonna cost me plenty of cash

I love Anders, been listening to him for close to 20 years now. I do like his recent stuff, but his first 2-3 recordings are what hooked me - Which Way to Here is a great recording, and Living Room, Ash Wednesday Blues, and Break the Chain all have 3-4 really nice songs apiece on them.

I'm really looking forward to seeing him on this Southern Soul Assembly tour in the spring.
