They've never done a Zappa, Beatles or Stevie Ray Vaughan New Years. Anything from 1973 would be a 40th Aniv. theme. Watkins Glen ??

can't imagine Mule doing a SRV show - he's more of a peer than an influence.

I'd love to see them do Little Feat!!!!!!!

With so many other options you think they would do another Zep themed set?

I have thought and dreamed of Warren signing the album "Layla" for quite a while.

I think it would be a bad ass and awesome fit for The Brothers of The Mule

They did do a Led Zeppelin Halloween show - I think the theme was Houses of the Holy. There are other Zep albums but maybe that would be repetitive. I like the Neil Young idea but there are a bunch of good choices here.

Pink Floyd's "Meddle" and while they're playing "Fearless" they can drift into a "Starship Trooper" jam and then back into "Fearless."

I have never been able to predict these themes, but Year of The Horse with Neil music would be a-ok with me!

They're doing the Doors, a California band on the West coast on Halloween. Maybe an East coast band on the East coast for New Years.

So far they've done:
Houses Of The Holy
Who's Next
Rolling Stones set
Jimi Hendrix set

I would love them to do Layla, Abbey Road or a Neil Young set.

All those are Halloween shows. This is not how they have done NYE themes which have all been focused on certain themes but have been broader and not on any specific one band. The Winter of Love, the 3 Kings, the Dub side, the grunge theme, etc.

So maybe it's gonna be a (STAX / Muscle Shoals) soul theme? Warren revisited his appreciation for vintage soul by forming the Warren Haynes Band and releasing "Man In Motion" but there's so much soul classics left to play. Would also be a good reason to get some of the musicians from his solo release and touring band on stage with him while currently focusing on the Mule. Muscle Shoals is currently getting more attention through a movie and the soundtrack.
