I have read the first one and it is very good . Nice selection of artist, for the most part, to represent "essential" metal and hard rock.

But I am not quite sure you are really able to take it farther than that with the artists he listed in his 2nd book. Kinda watering it down,IMHO.They might be essential to him, but in the whole grand scheme of that genre, I would say no. Extreme ,Buckcherry, Dokken,Lita ford, Ace Frehley,Great White,Night Ranger,Manson,Ratt White Lion, WASP? Maybe some talent there ,some nice material but....? I think if I were turning someone on to that era of music I doubt those bands would be my first choice. I love Glenn Hughes, "EARLY" Whitesnake, Y&T, Accept, but I think you have to be objective enough to say..are those bands really essential to that era? Maybe it's all subjective in what he likes, dislikes, who his friends are and so forth. The only bands I could say out of that book for me that would be close to essential would be Kings X and Saxon. Both great bands, but not under that moniker? I dont know. Keep it elite.

This ^^

Overall I'm okay with Eddie Trunk and enjoy his shows, but he does seem taken by who he is friends with.

Well, even in the first book, the bands listed are important, but most also have some sort of history with Eddie as well. I'm looking forward to the 2nd book to. Stuff like this will hopefully turn a younger generation onto some of these bands. I also like that in the playlists, Eddie doesn't focus on the huge hit singles.

The first book did well so the publisher probably wanted another one. If they're asking he'd be crazy not to do it.
