I'm in a 'friendly' debate with a friend in regards to many accounts of LIVE shows that Duane did with Derek and the Dominoes. Most historical records indicate that there were only TWO shows that he sat in....Tampa and Syracuse in early December of 1970. I have LONG heard that Duane played with the Dominoes in a Cincinnati performance but there seems no evidence in the records to support this. My friend swears he saw them with Duane at an Ohio performance--he thinks it Columbus or Dayton which I virtually totally reject...hate to discount his memory...but the debate continues....anybody out there with some FACTS or input...Did Duane perform in Ohio with D & D and/or more shows than the two usually mentioned?

I'm seeing the shows listed for Cincy and Cleveland on the 'Chrome' link....but again, the info seems to substantiate that Duane only played 2 shows.....Tampa and Syracuse...do you guys read it the same way as I do? And again...does anybody know of any other Duane sit-ins with D & D....? Where's Mr. West???

On Nov 25th ABB were playing Birmingham, Alabama - next gig wasn't until Dec 4th at Columbia, South Carolina - so the dates are free, but would Duane go to Cincinnati on 26th or Cleveland on 28th - especially as we know he was in Tampa on 1st Dec?

We need our friend Masahiko to join in, he is an encyclopaedia when it comes to Clapton gigs ...

Colin, thanks for calling me
I didn't notice this thread because I didn't logon here for a long long time.

Derek & The Dominos played "Layla" not only at Curtis Hixon Hall but also at Henry W. Kiel Municipal Auditorium St. Louis, Missouri and at Painters Mill Music Fair Owings Mills, Maryland.

11/27/1970 Kiel Municipal Auditorium
1. LAYLA
2. ROLL IT OVER
3. BLUES POWER
4. STORMY MONDAY
5. GOT TO GET BETTER IN A LITTLE WHILE
6. NOBODY KNOWS WHEN YOU DOWN AND OUT
7. TELL THE TRUTH
8. LET IT RAIN

11/29/1970 Painters Mill Music Fair
1. layla
2. bell bottom blues
3. blues power
4. stormy monday
5. tell the truth
6. got to get better in a little while
7. little wing
8. why does love got to be so sad
9. have you ever loved a woman
10. let it rain

However, we couldn't hear any Duane's guitar plays on these sources circulating.

Both shows from Tampa and Syracuse are confirmed as Duane played with Dominos by recording of Tampa and following pic from Syracuse.

Also one more show seems to be confirmed on duaneallman.info, please refer to following link.
12/03/1970 East Town Theatre Detroit, Michigan

in the new DVD about Duane there is a statement about Duane missing a couple of ABB shows to play with D&D. I was surprised to hear this. Always thought there were only 2 shows...
