I've been following the band since the 70's,though until last month I hadn't caught a show since Enlightened Rogues. Luckily, I saw one of the Chicago Theatre shows and was completely floored. I downloaded it, and can't get over the level of musicianship I witnessed that night. Any input on other great shows to get? I shudder to think if this band was not at the top of their game that night, how much better could they be.

If you are specifically looking for other shows that sound most like the show you just saw in Chicago, I can highly recommend the recent Atlanta show on 9/2/13. I was there and can vouch for the quality, and somebody the other day was saying they had listened to all the shows on the current tour, and Atlanta was the best.

Thanks. I'm pretty certain this will become habit forming and the Fox shows from '04 seem like a decent place to start.

Out of curiosity, If you could pick 3 shows from the '09 Beacon run what would they be?

3-26-09 needs to be on that list, either Clapton night (3/19&20) and I'll defer to others on choices for #3 but I know 3/14 is highly regarded.

If you are looking for shows to DOWNLOAD, the www.abblive.com websites has all the shows going back to July 2007. Before that they were/are unavailable for download. The band does not allow file sharing through torrent sites, though there are tons of great show available through the Vines and Trades forums here on this site.

Most of the Instant Live/Munchmix shows are still available in CD form at Hittin' The Note.

Hope this helps ......

For show recommendations, the 10/4/09 show in Charlotte is also highly regarded as a Fall '09 show. There are some shows in '05 where Warren or Derek were not in attendence and Jack Pearson sat in; those shows are a highlight since they are different. Look at the Hittin The Note site for descriptions of each show.

3/14 & 3/26 for sure! Probably 3/19 for "Anyday".

I saw that 9/26/04 Fox Theatre is "currently sold out", is it likely they'll print more of these?

Agreed. 3/26 Anniversary of their first ever show is a must- ABB only- no guests. I'd recommend 3/20/09 over 3/19. Clapton seemed much more dialed in after playing the night before. As for your third selection, go to the "Set List" page on this sight, and see if there is a guest that appeals to you in particular. 3/9- Taj Mahal & Levon Helm. 3/13- Boz Scaggs (I like that one), etc. The 3/13/05 Rosemont show, in which Jackie Pearson fills in for Warren is a must have as well.
