ABB LAFE had to be in the Top 20?
Foghat Live, Humble Pie's Rockin' The Fillmore, Aerosmith's Live Bootleg, Roy Buchanan's Live Stock, The Band' Rock Of Ages, & Jimi's Band Of Gypsys are also some of my fav's, but Jeff Beck's Live With Jan Hammer & Skynyrd's OMFTR are worthy just for Freeway Jam & T For Texas jams alone!

I have a top 3.

Derek & Dominos - Fillmore

ABB - Fillmore

Band - Rock of Ages

They rest is just the rest.

That being said, I haven't yet heard Waiting For Columbus, and really really want to. Given all I've heard about it, I'm sure it'll be up there.

I also don't own any Peter Green Fleetwood Mac live. But from what I've heard on Wolfgang's Vault I'm sure when I finally get something of theirs it'll be up there too. I love every show from that era on the Vault.

And of course, while I think Last Waltz has too many ups and downs to be on the list, it does have my favorite song ever -- It Makes No Difference.

those Allman Brother dudes - At Fillmore East
Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus

^^definitely and by far my favorite 2^^

Band of Gypsys
Albert King - Blues at Sunrise - (sort of a take your pick of several AK live releases)
BB King - Live in Japan (BB's most guitar-centric live recording)
Bob Marley - Live
Buddy Guy & Jr Wells - Drinkin TNT n Smokin Dynamite (love the 2-3 live 70's era Buddy & Jr releases)
Derek & Dominos - Live at the Fillmore
Dire Straits - Alchemy
Clapton - Just One Night
Fleetwood Mac - Live at Boston Tea Party Vol 1 (editing the three volumes of this to 1 or 2 discs and it would rival At Fillmore East)
Gov't Mule - Live at Roseland Ballroom
Johnny Winter - Captured Live
Zeppelin - either/or How the West Was Won or BB Sessions
Little Charlie & the Nightcats - Captured Live
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Live at Montreux
Warren Haynes Band - Live at Moody Theater

I almost always prefer improvisational artists' live albums to studio, but I much prefer Man In Motion to the live record.

Instead of coming up with a list that would repeat many others favorites one that would make my Top 5 would be Big World by Joe Jackson. It was recorded live in front of an audience at the Roundabout Theater in NYC. The audience was asked to remain silent during the performance which was recorded direct to digital and released without any mixing or over-dubbing. Excellent album IMO.

Allman Brothers Band - S.U.N.Y. at Stonybrook: Stonybrook, NY 9/19/71

Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains The Same (another nostalgic favorite from the vinyl daze)

Rush - All The World's A Stage
Motorhead - No Sleep 'til Hammersmith

5) Allman Bros Band - Live At Winterland '73 (from the Brothers & Sisters deluxe reissue)

Re: your #10 pick, I have never heard of a record titled Eric Clapton Live at The Fillmore, and Amazon carries no such record. Apparently you're referring to Derek and The Dominoes Live at The Fillmore.

Love this thread!!! We had an epic thread here (before epic was cool) about live albums years ago that gave me great ideas. Keep 'em coming! A few off the top of my head that I love always go back to:

Alison Krauss/Union Station - Live
Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More from the Road (expanded CD version) - original album was a staple of our household growing up!
Allman Brothers - IRSA Acoustic performance 6/11/92
Clapton - Unplugged
Lyle Lovett - Live from Texas
UFO - Strangers in the Night
Indigo Girls - 1200 Curfews
U2 - Under a Red Blood Sky
James Taylor - Live
Springsteen - Hammersmith Odeon London '75
The Band - Rock of Ages (expanded!)
Led Zeppelin - How the West Was Won
Rolling Stones - Stripped
Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus
Jackson Browne - Running on Empty - a non-traditional live album but a classic nonetheless!
