Been a long time, hoping for the best.

It was pretty good but very short.

Dickey announced right off that they weren't given much time so they'd try and play all the hits.

Show ran one hour including encore of Rambling Man.

Most of the songs seemed to be slower than I'm used to, most noticeably Change My Way of Living and Franklin's Tower/Blue Sky.

I'm not a musician so I may be wrong but it seemed like the band missed cues a couple times, things were a bit clunky.

No train wrecks, for an hour show it kicked ass.

Only downside for me was no Jessica.

Dickey also had some slurring when he talked/sang.

Didn't Dickey always have a slur?

That kinda worries me, having a show that short. 1 hr? Yikes. I guess the reason why it does is that at the end of this month I am going to try and see him at this free festival in southren Indiana, and it seems like when bands play fest's or other gatherings like this and other bands on the bill the sets run short.

It was the fair that limited them, not the band's choice and Dickey let it be known.

I was there too. I thought it was a pretty good show, would have loved to hear Jessica too but their version of One Way Out was enough to keep me happy. As was said, the band's time was limited due to the Fair.

I'm thinking that the slurring may have been a teeth issue rather than a drinking issue. When they introduced the band, there were at least a couple of members that could have used a trip or two to the dentist.

Dickey was having a few issues with a new piece or gear that caused some frustration for him but he seemed to take it in stride well. He apologized for sounding like The Ventures. He did play his vintage SG all night which was cool. Andy Aledort and his son Duane really complemented Dickey's playing on guitar.

Love to see him again with enough time for a full set but hey for $10 I ain't complaining.

And he dropped an F bomb to an all ages family fair show while doing it.

That was different.

Not really. Took my point and shoot, no matter how hard I try to steady it, it's just to small to get a firm, shake free grip.

Still better than a damn cell phone camera.

I decided to leave my DSLR at home.

Best one I got.
