Damn, I was hoping for Statesboro tomorrow. Oh well, for the ones that are there, this is a great tune.

It was great to see Tommy Talton play with the Allman Brothers on the first night. Hopefully he will play a few more songs with them on the second night.

The song they opened the 2nd set with was called "I Found Love" a "Pickett/Schofield/West" tune.

Watched the video and ....ZzzzzzzzzzzzzZzzzzzzzzzzzZzzzzzzzzzzz

I think the "Statesboro Blues" rendition w/Derek on slide should be the standard. Everything else sounds like someone trying to copy Duane..

The encore of NWTRW......was missing something. The bottom end "Nasty" of Dickey's fierce attack of that "Bo Diddley" beat....just ain't happenin'...

.....but the interplay between Derek and Warren at the end was pretty damn cool and their timing was spot on. Awesome.

Found Love sounded okay for a first go round. I'm sure if they rehearse it a little more it will be up to normal Allman Brother standards. Great to see The Brothers continuing to take some risks every night. Sounds like they are rotating Dusk till Dawn and Spots of time nightly based on the 2 Scranton Shows and last nights Chicago show.

Thanks JFish!

So yeah, the "Rain" song was in fact the old Beatles tune...which explains why it sounded so familiar.

Thanks, Susea, I was curious about that!

It was my first show in a few years (save from Wanee this year), so I wasn't particularly discriminating, but I loved the show. The show certainly had it's ups and downs but some of my favorites from last night were Spots of Time, Statesboro Blues, The Sky is Crying, and Liz Reed.

And I was happy to post the set list...I haven't been around in awhile but certainly followed beacon shows on here enough times that I can appreciate wanting to know what's going on!

Was at the show last night and all I can say is that it was better than any of the videos posted so far, definitely there was tons of energy and they sounded absolutely incredible.

The song in the middle of first set was a cover of The Beatles "Rain", basically an electrified cover of Gregg's acoustic arrangement, making it completely different than the original.

1:
One Way Out
Done Somebody Wrong -Derek on slide-
I Walk On Gilded Splinters
Worried Down With the Blues
Hot 'Lanta
Rain
Spots of Time
Statesboro Blues -with Tommy Talton on slide & Derek on slide-
Revival -long version-

2:
I Found a Love -Gregg on lead vocals, Warren on harmony, Oteil & Marc on backing vocals-
Midnight Rider
Don't Keep Me Wonderin'
The Sky is Crying
Ain't Wastin' Time No More
Soulshine
In Memory of Elizabeth Reed
JaBuBuMa
In Memory of Elizabeth Reed

No One to Run With

Just when I think a band can't keep improving, the brothers proved me wrong again last night. Song-wise, these generally weren't my favorites save for Spots of Time, but the level of playing was at such a high level for such a large majority of the show that it mattered little.

I am convinced that Warren's time spent with the symphonies has evolved his sound into a whole new space of consciousness never before contemplated. He fills his space so much more effectively than I've witnessed and I think this rubs off on the band in an entirely creative way. So much less predictable than before, where you could sense an extended stay at the bottom of the neck jam was coming to dominate. Instead, he would demonstrate restraint, weave into some incredibly interesting melodics, then kill at the end with swift but certainly not overbearing finesse.

Really great stuff from him last night.
