I'm headed to the ABB / Winwood show in Hartford on 8/24. 'Ass'-uming they do a few tunes together, what would our fanbase like to see Winwood do of ABB's, and vice versa, what Winwood/Traffic/etc. songs would you want to see ABB play with Steve?

Just to get it started, here's mine:

ABB on Winwood's material: Low Spark and Light Up Or Leave Me Alone; both could be epic jams
Winwood on ABB's material: Liz Reed or Ain't Wastin' Time No More; would love to see 4 part acoustic (Gregg, Derek, Warren, Steve), each taking turns on lead

Hopefully rehearsals will bring the best out of all of them and they pin it down to some memorable ones.

See some of you in Hartford.

Though there is a 0% chance of it happening - Winwood could do justice to the keyboard parts on High Falls.

Assuming Jose Neto is still the guitarist in Winwood's band I'd love to hear a Liz Reed with Winwood on keys and Neto on guitar.

Although Steve just did it with Clapton, I think they'd have a fun time with Glad.

They did it with Sheryl Crow, with Winwood, it would be awesome!

I'm thinking the same thing about 'Can't Find My Way Home.'

I'll be seeing them in Gilford, NH on the 27th of this month. I'd like to hear them play 'Dear Mr. Fantasy' and/or 'Rainmaker' together as well.

Definitely CFMWH. I could see them jamming on Dear Mr. Fantasy, as well.

Can't Find My Way Home is a definite.

Could see them doing Voodoo Chile...which would actually be extra cool if Stevie and Gregg traded vocals. Doubt it will happen but would suit them and be cool.

Dreams would be cool with Stevie on guitar.

Could see them doing Sky is Crying and/or Southbound both of which would be a let down in my opinion.

I think it is more likely that Warren and Derek will sit in with Steve than Steve with the ABB

I would put my money on this exact scenario. Can't Find My Way Home and Mr Fantasy are 2 of the highlights of Winwood's set. He does them every night and his band knows them like the backs of their hands. Would probably much better for Warren and/or Derek to guest on Stevie's set than for him to play his tune with the ABB, who has probably played CFMWH less than a half dozen times over the last 4 years. If Winwood hangs around to sit in with the ABB, would most likely be a guitar blues jam like Sky is Crying, Stormy Monday, etc.

I would love to hear them take on a challenge like 40,000 Headmen. Alas, I get Grace as an opener. Damn you Rod Stewart!

I'm totally stoked to have her open. I hope she sits in with the Brothers.

How amazing might this be?

Throw in a little B3 and crank up the Leslie....

Surprised no one has mentioned "Don't Want You No More". It was the 1st song on the 1st ABB album and it was written by Steve Winwood. Talk about coming "full circle".

I'd like to hear ABB / Winwood versions of "Had to Cry Today" or "Sea of Joy"

No, Winwood didn't write it. Spencer Davis did, but well after Winwood left the Spencer Davis Group.
