Saw Windwood open for Tom Petty about 4 years ago. Steve was great in his hour opening set.

He then returned for 2 songs with the Heartbreakers. Gimme Some Lovin and Can't Find My Way Home. On the latter, he was out front trading extended solos with Mike Campbell. I had new found respect for Steve's guitar playing after that night.

The Heartbreakers also had Tom Leadon from Mudcrutch come out for two songs from the Mudcrutch record that came out a few years ago.

Petty played for 1 hour 50 minutes total so I had 2 hours 50 minutes of amazing music that night. One of the best shows I've seen in the last 10 years.

Winwood is about as good of a match with the Allman Brothers as I could hope for (though Grace Potter will be fun in Atlanta as well).

Steve is a super talent. A real legend. Randall Bramlett used to tour as part of his band...

Seriously. The only other record I can recall with that much appeal from way back then was "Frampton comes alive"...

I may be wrong on this Vince but I think Frampton's album came out a couple of years later than Traffic's. It has been a long time ago.

Walkin in the Wind from When the eagle flies album is very underappreciated in my opinion. wasn't played live too much either. Like to hear TTB or Mule take a run at it.

although it can be picked on for some imperfections, my go to Traffic is Welcome To The Canteen. It always feels like a comfortable old shoe, with a warm and happy vibe to it...

I agree completely. Winwood and Mason combined have never sounded as good in my opinion. I love the version of Shouldn't Have Took More Than You Gave from this album - one of my all-time favorite tunes. I wish they'd release more songs from these shows.

I agree completly

Also Dream Gerrard. Actually, I think that that entire ALBUM is underated.

Dear Mr. Fantasy is one of my favorite songs ever. I'd love to see Steve do that with the ABB.

I love that album. I was just going to post that I was surprised no one mentioned it yet. That and Low Spark are my favorites, with Welcome to the Canteen close behind

2 chances coming up to see Winwood, with the Bros in Buffalo Aug. 23, and his show in Akron, OH on Oct. 22. Great music coming up.

Low Spark is definitely my favorite Traffic song. I went crazy when Mule covered it when I saw them the night before NYE a few years ago. Bill Evans on sax. Good stuff.

Agreed, I was there that night as well. I got goosebumps when I realized what Mule was playing.
