Any guesses as to what the new archival release will be? Or when it will come out?

Somebody here guessed in another thread that it was about time for something from the 5-man period.

Along those lines, what about the lengthy new years 73 show? Would this one be worth releasing? I have it on "import" but the person who gacve it to me recorded it poorly and the sound is awful, littered with pops and cracks.

Oh no, there is a really nice 4 disc set that's in circulation. Let me know if you would like a copy.

Yep, I must agree with Clay.
I really hope they come up with a real gem from the vaults
and not with a show which is already heavy in rotation among traders like
the 12/31/73 show among others.

Archive release No.2 was cool because a couple of great tunes like "blue sky"
were not available on the circulating trades / boots.

Time will tell.

Here's hoping #3 is released during the Beacon run (especially the first weekend )

Mar Y Sol , Puerto Rico
Saturday, April 1, 1972
?????????????????????

It would make sense:
- it's not in rotation among traders
- it's from the 5 piece line-up which was rumoured to be the next choice for release
- it's professionally recorded for release of the compilation album back in the Seventies
so some tapes may have survived in "the vaults".

I guess we just have to be patient.

Roger, some time back a kind soul showed up on the trade forum saying that he had the complete May Y Sol festival, then offered it as a b&p or maybe even a freebie to anyone that wanted it, then all of a sudden he went MIA and has never been heard of since.

Ah yes.

MysticDancer and GDKilgoreTrout.

Two complete idiots who showed up at Beacon time. Lost tapes in his possession. Right.

Loser had everyone ready to reoffer, then disappeared.

So now the second part of the question...when?? Also, when they exhaust the rare shows, do you think they will start to work on stuff that a lot of people already have on boot? Dylan is releasing one of his most popular boots in March; I have it but will pick it up in a heartbeat. Same goes for ABB, though I don't have many boots.

You only need two boots, the left and the right.

I'm with Roger, on Mar Y Sol - this would be a killer find, though I suspect there's more than a couple of uncirculated '72 shows out there; to have one in perfect, multi-track SQ would be amazing!

Clay - I read over the Mar Y Sol offer saga a while back, when I raised the question myself of the whereabouts of those tapes; was that an exercise in frustration or what???

That would be cool, but I thought the next archive show would be from the 5 man group....

I think the Watkins Glen concert should get the same treatment as like the Atlanta Pop shows. More than just the mail-order archive release. The Glen should be a full blown national release....

Well maybe the Mar Y Sol project is well on it's way.
When suddenly out of nothing two dudes started offering this
uncirculated gem in the trade section panic may have struck in the Archivist camp.
So maybe these dudes were "silenced".
that's why they seem to have vaporized and have never been seen
or heard of ever since.

So people be very careful with what suggestions you come up with
because archive release No. 4 may be in pre-production fase as well.
People who start offering these suggested shows like Watkins glenn
in the trade section could be abducted as well.

Watch out for these Men in Black (with small mushroom-logo on their chest).

Well i guess this isn't a conspiracy THEORY anymore.
No more replies since my last reply so i guess everyone IS silenced.
Thank God i'm save and sound in the Netherlands far away from their influence.
