Decided to check out a new eating place called Twang. It's in the old Bibb Mill next to Freedom Park.
Entering the door, we were greeted by YDLM from "Live at Fillmore East". Following was a shuttle mix of ABB and Otis Redding.

Got seated, checked out the menu, and ordered as starters fried green tomatoes and sweet potato chips.
Both are highly recommended.

Entrees were an oyster po-boy for me and the Twang burger for her. I also got the three color slaw with mine, but more to come on that later.

The po-boy was as good as any I had when in New Orleans. (Actually had to get it back when my wife asked for"a bite" of my sandwich.) The Twang burger is now on our got-to-get-that-again list. The slaw made the list, too. First bite of the slaw is sweet, until you get to that last chew and WHAM-there's the spicy. Not eye-watering, but it's noticeable.

I don't usually do dessert, but had to ask. They didn't have my main nemesis, banana pudding, but they did offer peach cobbler (she added that the peaches come from Lane Orchards) and ice cream.
That again made the list, but with the added condition of when my blood sugar isn't high.
my granny made her peach cobbler like this. Very little sugar so you don't lose the peach taste, and a lattice crust.

So now we've got a new place for you to hang out, in the bar, or on the patio, listen to live music on weekends, and have great food.

Any time. There's a lot on the menu that's Macon oriented, so try it out.
