You can buy tickets for ALL of those shows for less than the price of one ABB orchestra seat in the Beacon.

great venue! I didn't know the line-ups had been released...thanks for posting. After looking @ Warren's tour schedule this summer, I wasn't expecting a Mule show in WNY. I'm psyched! And I'd just decided that the festivals didn't fit the budget this year. I can swing a trip to Artpark

Hey guys, any tips on avoiding the traffic? Any quick in, quick out? I know this series draws the crowds.

Only been back in the area about 3 years and have been too lazy or busy to wrestle with the traffic.

i knew a majority of the lineup already ~ locals should check out WNYorker.com & they can also be found on facebook.
I knew the MULE date already from the new tour shirt they had for sale at Wanee
the traffic is crazy all the way around, especially Tuesdays ~ they pack more people into that place than should be allowed sometimes ~ ZZ Top & Skynyrd each had a side busting 60,000+ a few years ago...the Doobies packed in 23,000 the year before that & it was insane, people couldn't even turn around ~ can't even imagine the crowd bigger but everyone i know who went said it was by far too many people. for that reason, i now pick & choose what i go to see there ~ whereas i used to go every tuesday for ~ many of those bands i've seen before anyway & other bands I'll follow to the edge of the earth, like my Mule.
the traffic in & out is crazy, so unless you leave early, expect to wait in traffic for awhile or just hang out & tailgate til it thins. Lewiston is a very small town. I've even gone up for shows & found there to be litterally nowhere to park ~ so, if ya want to go, go up early as ya can & hang out ~ enjoy though, making the most you can out of it.
there is also the option of buying the limited standing front sections, at just $25 a person, but act when they go on sale because they sell out quick ~ they're available april 30th @ 10am

I've been to see the Mule there in the past, as well as TTB, T. Ellis, etc. Those were lovely nights at a lovely venue....not too crowded at all. You can sit on the grassy hill behind the seats and still have a great view. It used to be free, but simce the crowds grew steadily, I think they slapped a small fee on there to help control it. The traffic gets bad as you leave the highway coming from Buffalo and begin to wind your way into Lewiston. Peachygurl captured it all well.

I went to ZZTop last summer on a whim and that was ridiculous. Impassable lawn chair walls went on for yards and yards. The crowd stretched off in many directions up hills that used to just serve as part of the access walk to the stage area. There is a big screen left of stage. But I hope that won't be the new normal, only a product of the commercially popular acts. I'm going to Mule either way

I've been to artpark for a TTB show a couple years ago. The view is great but the venue, parking, the traffic nightmare at the end of the show, and trying to find a good place to listen to the show without tripping over chairs is too much for me, and I don't think I'll be going back there, which saddens me because I love my Mule.

It's just too much of a hassle and it ends up ruining the good vibes of the show for me, unfortunately.

it seems we all agree & have the same outlook ~ we all knew simpler & more enjoyable days there & yes, it is an absolutely beauiful outdoor venue!
i WILL be there for the bands i love most as they surface there each season, as always....& MULE without a doubt of course!
i may take the plunge and go battle the crowds for Bad Company, just because!

Man, that kinda sucks. I'd rather pay a few extra bucks to see some of these bands. I'd love to see Mule, ZZ Top and even Bad Company but it just ain't worth the hassle, especially when you have to get up early the next day for work.

Thanks for the insight guys.

And girls.

hey now yankee ~ make sure ya do Mule ~ Wednesday shows are "lesser known" bands & outside the box artists so the general public doesn't generally flock to them since they have no clue who they are ~ the tuesdays are what john & jane doe gravitate to wednesdays are typically devoted followers of whatever is being offered up.
and, if you really want to catch a prime band on tuesday, go! some bands *are* worth the crowd battle ~ although i agree immensely, that i'd rather pay more $ & not deal with the hassles.

and just a reminder to all of y'all ~ if you want up front spots secured, make the purchase april 30th starting at 10am ~ i think they are $25 a show no matter what night it is.
also ~ in the mainstage theatre, they are having Buddy Guy & Robert Randolph with the family band which will be an indoor ticketed show ~ august 1st
