"They know how to play the game 'violence' and it's easier for them when they can recognize and shoot you. They don't know how to handle humor, and peaceful humor. And that's our message, really." -Yoko Ono

I love that statement and I don't think it's macabre of Yoko in any way to do this. It's reality, that's all.

there is probalbly enough biological material on those glasses to isolate some dna and possibly clone Lennon.

I guestion the figure of 1,057,000. It's been 32 years since John was killed. That would be an average of 33,031 gun deaths a year. In spite of the seriousness and the attention gun violence receives, that seems really high.

Depends on who you ask. According to C. Rangel "millions" of kids are being killed with assault weapons. Admittedly, truth is not Charlie's best friend.

I keep seeing this and I'm shocked that the media is making a big deal out of this picture. It was the cover of Yoko's first album after John was murdered. It's not a new picture or anything.

Her statement was "killed by guns." If one factors in suicide by firearm, death by accidental discharge and then adds those to death by firearm violence, then that number is probably correct.

The CDC tracks mortality in the U.S. Their 2010 report, found here: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/injury.htm stated this:

All firearm deaths
•Number of deaths: 31,672
•Deaths per 100,000 population: 10.3

Looking through the tables in the full report, it looks like things like suicide and accident are indeed factored into that total. Didn't scroll through to see if there are historical tables as well.

That's IT, she has crossed the line...I am NOT going to buy another one of her albums, I am done with her.

Well then it is basically new to 99.9% of the people.

I am not so sure John would be down with this propaganda.

I am no Yoko fan; but at the short lived R & R HOF in SOHO there was a Lennon exhibit. Yoko had the glasses and the bag of John's clothes, etc on display. It was moving - especially her comments about how this is what a life is reduced to in a second of violence.

Don't want to ever hear her sing; but class act re; John's death
