The Brothers only played this one time outside the Beacon last year. I think that they crush this song and would like to hear themn do it more. I wonder why they played it so infrequently last year. I have been trying to get them to play it on the radio here but no progress as of yet. Most people that have heard it like it better than the original and I am in full agreement.

Probably because it's not really their song and they have plenty of other covers to do during a concert...just a guess....

Yeah they do kill that song! That one really grew on me over time.
I haven't heard Keith and the boys do anything that even close to how The Brothers crush that song! Thats the difference between The ABB and the Stones. The Stones go through the motions while The ABB plays the tune like its their last... Balls to the wall every time out!

I still say a PERFECT song for Gregg to sing would be "Moonlight Mile". A perfect vehicle for Ol' Brother Gregg and The band. Cool lyrics, great melody and chaotic-modal jam at the end for Derek to do his thing! Yup this would be tailor made for the ABB to do.

I remember hearing Gregg sing this at the Beacon around 1996. I remember it to be opening night, and we were partying in the last row of the upper balcony. Great time!! The song stuck out because, at the time, they did no British covers. I forgot all about it until I saw the list for Hittin the Note. Anybody else remember that night at the Beacon ?

I saw them play it twice at the Beacon this year, and I really like the way they do it.

The Pittsburgh show was an Instant Live show. There are several recordings available for trade. They do smoke it.

3/20/03 has the ultimate "Heart Of Stone". Pop it in you'll see - Love how the crowd sings loudly with Gregg ..."this Heart Of Stone!!!"..yeah.

I'm probably gonna get slammed for this but I don't like the ABB version of "Heart Of Stone." Funny thing is, I can't give a good reason why. Gregg sings the hell out of it and the music is just fine. It just doesn't move me. I know they played it in the mid-90's and weren't happy with it and sort of let it drop. I don't wish to offend anyone; it's just my take.

I saw the ABB play Heart of Stone at the Beacon last year (3/20) and I enjoyed it.
I can't forget the Whipping Post>MTN Jam either.

Bobo, I can relate. I think the Brothers do the song justice and I think they do it great, but I guess I'd rather hear other slow blues tunes. Maybe I just don't like the song that much. Don't get me wrong the band does it great, Gregg sings the hell out of it, but I'd rather hear, "Stormy Monday", "Loan Me a Dime", "I'm Gonna Move to the Outskirts of Town" or "Need Your Love So Bad", I guess.
