How is the brewpub coming along? Been brewing lately.

I took a break for a bit.

I'm really interested to see how Jackie with the Crowes works out. I'm thinking he won't be anywhere close to Luther or Marc Ford.

Gotta agree there. It's a curious fit.

Hey fellas...

Moid, the ol tap house is coming along. in the next week or so we'll get to show off the logo. That'll be cool. Then our current tenant is leaving in May so we can start renovations and buy all the equipment, etc. Won't be long and we can really get moving!

We're putting together the final touches on a bavarian wheat recipe that we'll be brewing next. It'll have a distinct banana flavor (which I'm not quite sure about yet) due to the yeast. At the very least it'll be different.

So, the transmission died on my wife's car last night..... looks like she will be getting a new one........

Transmission or car?

Car........

Good luck man. If the transmission goes, you usually should just throw the car away. Hope you guys find a good deal on something.

The Wanee wagon's trans went 3 years ago. 25K miles later the rebuilt trans is running like a champ. Cost $2500.

I have 250k on a rebuilt tranny...

Didn't know this news. IMO Marc Ford is hands down the BEST guitar player The Crowes have ever had. Too bad things never worked out.

I did a simple low gravity kit (extract and grains) along those lines, and used a Wyeast bavarian yeast that produced that banana flavor. I was pleased with it.

Took one (along with a couple of other brews) to the local homebrewer's club I just joined, and everyone thought it turned out fine.

Very cool. I've had some bavarian wheats before and, while okay, was never a big fan. I'm not a big Belgian fan either, and those are crazy popular, too...

I like those sorts of beers. I've done two wheats (one was a berry weiss, at Mrs. Moid's and MIL Moid's request), and also a Trappist and a tripel. They all turned out well, although the tripel ended up being overcarbonated.

I love Belgians - Corsendonk, DTs, etc. I had access to several Trappist ales when I worked for the distributor. They would knock your dick in the dirt, though. I would just love to have one, but I don't want the alcohol.

It has been nearly 4 years since I have had a beer. The last beer I had was a PBR tall boy. One day I may try moderation again. It will be after I haven't drank for at least 5 yrs. Moderation was something I NEVER mastered when it came to drinkin'.

And, yes, I liked PBR.

PBR was dad's beer when I was growing up. He said it was the beer that got me through college, being cheap and all.

I would rather have a PBR or an Old Style (IMO, similar beers) than just about any other mass-produced beer like Bud.

I'm not a really big hop head, although I like plenty of American IPAs (and other hoppy beers). I've brewed a couple, but because they stale so quickly, I don't always finish drinking a 5 gal. batch before it gets dry and bitter.

To me, the best IPAs are the balanced british ones.
