The silence from the TTB is deafening - pretty good for a 10 piece band. NO mention of any regular bass player. So they're locked in the studio working on a new album with....NOBODY playing bass? Not a word on their website.

C'mon. Who's got the scoop?

We've had quite a few bassists record with us so far, including Dave Monsey, George Reiff, Pino Palladino and Bakithi Kumalo.

I don't mind if they go with different Bass players , like Gov't Mule. I loved those days I could go see 3 Mule shows and see Schools, Porter and Newstead. I trust whoever Derek goes with ,maybe some Tal Wilkenfield

Tal Wilkenfeld would be mighty cool indeed.

Thanks for the laugh!!

I have to think they'll do better in the long run with a regular bass player instead of
playing the 'guest' game. So if they are just inviting people to play on a tune for the
new album that makes me think they haven't found anyone yet.

bummer.

On a related issue, the Derek section of this forum has been on fire with daily posts since this tTb started. Posts every 6 months or so

Funny as Brother Wharfy mentioned tour starts soon and no mention of a new bass player and the old one is still listed as being in the band. Hmmmm

...and there's the trolling. It sucks that this happens in pretty much every thread on this site nowadays.

Any thread is fair game.

However, it makes sense to have some concerns about the TTB. They won a Grammy, were invited to play at the White House, are currently recording another studio album slated for release this year, and have started to announce new tour dates. All of these are clear signs of a band on the verge of calling it quits.

LMAO! Don't forget that they are a " So called band". They are an illusion that was breaking up even before they formed.

New album on the way, tour and Derek and Susan are calling their own shots. Good for them regardless of who and when they pay a new bassist. Looking forward to it.
