He's had a bit of a schitty month - Neff quits band, long time roadie died last week, and now this:

Y'ALL,

Last night my prized Baxendale Acoustic Guitar was stolen during our load out from The Blue Note in Columbia MO.

It was custom made for me and was my most cherished material possession.

It's a small, parlour type bodied acoustic guitar.

I have written my last five albums on this guitar and am very upset.

Anyone with any information about it, please contact us (management@drivebytruckers.com), no questions asked.

It has made an already terrible week even worse.

Thanks in advance,
Patterson Hood

Anybody who would steal a musician's instrument should be locked up with terrorists. That, or they should be made to listen to me play for an hour or so.

Seriously, I hope Patterson gets his guitar back real soon.

This sucks pretty bad. Didn't know about the other bad news regarding a bandmember quitting and a roadie passing away either. Love the DBT!

This sucks indeed. Best wishes for good news recovering your beloved guitar. I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your roadie.

Tough week for DBT......

The roadie that died was Craig Lieske. He was also their merch guy. When I saw them at the Vic in Chicago, I got in early and tried to get a shirt. They didn't have my size. He said to come back later, they would get some from the truck. I went back later and he had it for me.

The next year, I am wearing that shirt to the DBT concert in Madison. I was going to the show with my daughter, and we went to eat at a brewpub right near the theater. Two guys sat in the table next to us - one had a DBT hat on. As they got up, they came over to us, and Craig said "I sold you that shirt'. I told him about buying it in Chicago, and how I appreciated the service. They talked to us for a while, and then said 'Enjoy the show and stop by the merch table and say hi'. I didn't realize until I saw the picture on the DBT page that he was the one that died. Sad, he was only 48. My daughter was amazed that people just come up and talk to me........I told her she should see me at an ABB show.....
