Never was much of a Nirvana fan, but this should be interesting!

They should have gotten [John Fogerty] I heard he does an excellent imitation of Cobain. right down to the flannel shirt

Yeah but he's not left-handed. Paul does grunge? You watch, he's gonna pull it off.

I'm a big Nirvana fan, and I'd probably soil myself if they attempted "Negative Creep" or "Blew".

But I'm thinking we're probably going to get "All Apologies", but it wouldn't surprise me if we get "About A Girl" either. Something about "About A Girl" always struck me as being very Beatle-esque. Simple song, with one of Cobain's most restrained vocals.

Although not a Nirvana tune, I'd love to see Sir Paul take a stab at singing "Love Buzz".
All Sir Paul would have to do is sing, and hit that "A" chord. Now that'd be a trip.

Paul is one of the greatest and most capable, creative and diverse musicians on the planet.

He seems to be able to thrive playing any style of music and he's pretty darn capable on bass, guitar, lead, drums, keys, etc.

He will rise to the occasion.....

Paul did one of the longest sets of the day and only one tune with Nirvana. I thought he ROCKED it hard!! I'm not familiar enough with Nirvana to know what tune it was, but Paul sounded completely at home, never missed a beat. Let's not forget that The Beatles honed their chops wailing 10 hours per day in sleazy clubs in Hamburg, Germany. You think they weren't a pretty hard rockin' outfit back then? The sweetness of their songwriting only appeared much later.

And they do a killer version of Shaft (posted here previously):

I really enjoyed Sir Paul's jam with Nirvana- the highlight of the whole event, at least the part I saw. Dave Grohl is a monster on drums!! Paul's solo was killer!
My question: anyone here know what kind of instrument Paul was playing with Nirvana? (It looked like a homemade, electric-resonator cigar-box ukulele, or somethin'!!)
