My buddy flipped out last night when they started playing Dear Mr. Fantasy. Looked around on youtube today and there's a 1972 video of Traffic doing it where Steve Winwood is clearly tripping but still playing some amazing guitar. It sounds like it was a Dead fan favorite at one point. Anyone know anything about the song?

Sounds like a great set.
Really wanted to head down for that one. Saw them in Lockport and Rochester this summer. Really wanted to see a theatre show, Sadly it looks like no Canadian dates this year.
Sounds like you had a great time, thanks for sharing the set list.

Rochester was a great show although short by Mule standards.

This was full bore balls to the wall Mule.

Saw lots of familiar faces as usual.

Derek & I had a great time and didn't hit any deer on the drive.

It's basically the title song from Traffic's "Mr. Fantasy" album. There's longer live version on "Welcome To The Canteen" - a live Traffic album. The Grateful Dead have done it a lot, The Mule has done it quite often too. CSN has covered it. I would call it a bit of a signature tune for Traffic.
