Been spinning this for 2 days now ( thanks to my local indie store who gets new releases the weekend before ) and all I can say to all you Neil fans is this is the disc youve been waiting for. This is classic Neil and horse. On par with Ragged Glory and his best since Zuma. Disc one opens with a 27 minute Driftin Back that just drips of the horse with long droning jam with Neils sinewy guitar slinking in and out as he rails..... I used to dig Picasso,,,, until the giant tech company turned him into wallpaper. Ramada Inn is another 16 minute gem in the same vein but about lost love with Neils screeching guitar throughout. Twisted road goes on to tell of Neil listening to Dylan and the Dead back in the old days. The real gem is Walk like a Giant with its whistling chorus that just sticks in your head like glue. Another 18 minute barrage with great backing vocals. For some Neil fans like myself who was starting to wonder fi he still had it since I didnt care for his last few albums, this will put an exclamation point on that answer. Period.

From what I've heard and enjoyed Twisted Road ..it is pure Neil Young. I am excited and can't wait to get Psychedelic Pill... a trip back to Neil ..

I'm one of those fans who was beginning to think Neil had lost it.
After the last few and especially after that awful Americana album.
If your taste in Neil's music is like mine, this new album sounds like good news!
I'll have to check it out ASAP.

Neil Young is one classic rocker that continues to crank out the new albums, one after another! He hasn't slowed down at all in decades!

So much different than the Allmans who haven't released an album of new music in almost ten years. They obviously have quite different philosophies about new music!!!

Same here. I love Ragged Glory. Can't wait for this one. I was put off by the concept of Americana when i read about it but I heard one song and really liked so I picked it up. I've been digging it and really looking forward to Psychedelic Pill ever since. A 27 Minute Crazy Horse jam is just what I need!

Agreed 100% on Ragged Glory !

I am listening to Psychedelic Pill right now for the first time. I grabbed it at Best Buy on the way home from work.

I am listening to this stone cold sober and Driftin' Back just totally blew my mind ...!

I am feeling the same 14 minutes into the title track...

I think we have a keeper...

Here's a youtube sampler from the record that a friend sent me. It's only one tune, but it sure doesn't get me excited over hearing the rest of the record.............very repetitive and boring.

EKTIN is my favourite Neil & Crazy Horse album too, before Zuma.

I've listened to (very!) extended extracts from Pill on Spotify and, while EKTIN crackles with youthful energy, Pill meanders with late middle-age grace.

Not one I'll be buying but, if you like that sort of thing, go fot it!
