After Warren and Matt played a mini set of three acoustic Mule songs we all lined up to get our box sets signed. There weren't too many people but there were enough. Warren and Matt graciously spoke to everyone and seemed very engaged and they happily posed for photos. The only time I ever met the two of them was at the signing event for High and Mighty back in 2006. However, as I approached and Matt saw me he called out "Hey Doug." I was stunned. I did recently become his Facebook friend which is the only way he could know who I am. Anyway I got a picture with them and I told Warren how the two Capital Theater shows were like the best $70 ever. I urged him to keep ticket prices low. He answered "We're trying." These guys are real fan's musicians.

Good for you, Doug! I met Warren at the hotel before 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival and he was just wonderful and very personable.

Nice! I remember talking to him before a Beacon show a few years back. He gave me an autograph (also got JJ that night) and he was happy to talk about my question on his way of phrasing lead guitar solos. He is the real deal.

Good for you Doug and not suprised that you were remembered.

Have said it for years along with many here - Govt Mule are not only one of rock's greatest bands but some of the nicest guys in the business.

Awesome Doug.

I had the pleasure of meeting Matt outside of Brooklyn Bowl earlier this year when Planet of the Abts played there. It was my first time there and I tried to go in the wrong door unknowingly. The door swung open and it was Matt. He looked at me and said, "strict no smoking policy in there" then offered us his doob. I started hysterically laughing.

Hey Doug, that's great. Glad you had a chance to hobnob with Warren and Matt. And very cool that Matt is on a first-name basis with you! Well done.

I do have one question, though - how does one get a download signed? I recall you asking about a year ago "What're CDs?"

*snicker*....I always pull that one out when someone tells me how worthless CDs are and how superior and convenient DLs are....

Doesn't Matt know what they say about smoking on the streets of NYC?

I had a feeling something like this would happen so I didn't download it. Also I have learned never to pre-order since I would have had to buy another to get it signed. The reality is, once ripped I will probably never play the actual CD's again.
