I know Buddy Guy is a great guitarist, but every time I see him he clowns around too much and plays bits of all sorts of songs but never plays a traditional song/song/song type of show. I will not be going, but hope to hear a review from anyone who does!

I've seen Buddy live several times, most recently was this past June in Dallas, and it was an awesome show!! Yes, he does play bits of some songs, but I still enjoyed it.

Last night's show was great!
Quinn Sullivan played for 45 minutes with Buddy's band and has gotten even better.Sure sounds like he's been taking singing lessons but now being 13 also helps.Very good set and an artist I intend to continue following.
Buddy was even better than usual.Played more than 90 minutes.Very powerful playing. Also did some acoustic songs( including Strange Brew, Ain't that peculiar?) which was wonderful.
Going back for more tonight, well worth the time, money and travel!

Thanks .. I bet it was fun in that venue. I'm looking forward to his shows in Chicago in January.

There's nothing like seeing Buddy Guy for the first time. Except maybe seeing Kiss for the first time!!!

But, to a large extent, your 2nd/3rd/15th Buddy show is just like the first one.

This is pretty much the case. Seen him 5 times in the past 2 years.

He just played NY last month at the Capitol Theatre so I went to that because I really wanted to see the new venue. Besides I already saw him play BB's just last year and that was also with Quinn. He does tour an awful lot. I give credit to him for still hitting the road this hard at his age.
