Jaimoe's Jassz Band are in town for the weekend. They play tonight in Milwaukee and tomorrow at the House of Blues here in Chicago. They had a night off last night so I invited them to my restaurant in Chicago, Taste of Peru and they came. We had an amazing time. I filled the boys up with tamales, Ceviche, paella, lomo saltado, Parihuela, peruvian wine, pisco sours and Inka cola. We have live music and Jaimoe picked up a drum and played a bit with our musicians. It was a fun night with good food, amazing company, and good music. If your in Milwaukee tonight or Chicago tomorrow don't miss these guys.

Lee - Unless you have another commitment, I can't think of a better place to be tomorrow night than seeing Jaimoe's Jassz Band. This will be blasphemy to some, but I think their latest album is as good as anything an ABB member has ever released outside out of the Brothers....I put it in Laid Back rarified air. Don't miss these guys!

Getting to jam on acoustic with Junior Mack around the fire, where he was soloing on a couple songs while I was strumming/singing, is one of the coolest things I've ever experienced.

Cool story Chicagofan.

Nice! Sounds like it was a blast. Hopefully you've got some good pics to add to your establishment's decorations!

That was nice for you Julie. And for them too I bet based on the food and company. They do indeed rock. I enjoyed their Peach Fest show very much.

Julie, what a great night you must have had!

Wish I could make it tomorrow night, but I'm 95% sure I won't make it back from central Indiana in time.

Went to the show at Northern Lights Theater in the casino in Milwaukee. All I can say is that is one amazing band of top shelf musicians. I do believe Howlin Wolf and Hubert Sumlin were looking down grinning and smiling when Junior Mack ripped into Smokestack Lightning. I also believe Junior Mack has one of the best singing voices going today. Just an absolute shame there were only about 50 of us there to see it.

So glad they had the chance to try the wonderful food at Taste of Peru! Julie is too modest to pass on the news of how the band felt about their expeirence but word is that the food and hospitality was fantastic and went beyond their expectations! They played on Chicago news earlier that day but what a fabulous time for Julie and Cesar and all the guys in the band! Sounds like last nights HOB show was a great time too!

A few pictures Krissy took at the restaurant.

Julie, If I ever get to Chicago your restatuant will be the first place I eat at....

And I have never had any of the food you mentioned in the first post, however it sounds wonderful

And I too am in LOVE with the band. Got them here in Augusta, GA in 10 days an I am very excited about it !!!

Great story, fun pics, and I am now determined to try your restaurant, Julie, having lived in Chicago for 15 years now.

It sounds delicious
