Been to two Beacon shows last year, and i have to say it was amazing.
And i really love NYC as well.

I want to come back next year, and currently KLM is having a ticket blowout.
Save's me over 300 euro's on tickets.

Are there any date's known already ?
Because i want to book my plane tickets already, but i need to be there at the correct moment.

I might try to come to my first Beacon performance this Spring. It's easy enough to look on Google for hotels near the theater. But are any recommended by the ABB faithful?

The Beacon Hotel is great, IMO. You can get a small suite with a kitchen for about $325. I loved the place. Lots of Peach heads at the hotel. Could not have been a better experience.

The only mistake I made was not staying long enough. I traveled from Seattle for 2 shows and really could have stayed longer. Next year, I'm hoping to catch 3 shows, which will also give a nite or two for other things.

It's a long, expensive trip for many, but absolutely worth the time, effort, and dough.

Just wanted to mention a few other hotels which are close by the Beacon.

The Milburn (Oteil stayed here during the 2012 Beacon run) 76th Street, just west of Broadway

The Belleclaire 77th Street, just west of Broadway

On The Ave 77th Street, just east of Broadway

We typically book about 4 or 5 rooms at On The Ave. Nice boutique hotel two blocks from the Beacon and close by great bar activity. They have a great balcony/patio on the 16th floor where we conduct our pre concert party. A nice spot.

To geedub, tclawrence, and mustangbob -- thanks for the hotel suggestions.

To unclj, all I know to do is to sign up for the Peach Corps at http://htw.hittintheweb.com, if you haven't already done so, so you can get Peach-o-grams from Lana (lana@tourstar.net)/Rowlana (rowlanda@hittintheweb.com).

I asked about the 2013 dates in early September 5, and Lana said she didn't know anything yet.

unclj ,
No word from management yet on dates.
I, too, live in Portland, OR, and want to fly my new wife out for a few days this year as she has never been to NYC or seen an ABB show.
The sooner we find out the schedule, the sooner I can book her flights.
We in the crew always stay at the Milburn, about a block away from the Beacon. It is very comfortable and the staff always treat us and Beacon attendees as family.
BTW, Gregg is rising back into the best shape and form that he has been in literally in years. Sounding, singing, and playing excellently out here on the GA&F shows!
This should be a great run of Beacon performances this year.

I saw ABB for the first (2) times at the Peach Fest this summer. Had an absolute blast and determined to make it to a Beacon show now. Hoping they make it happen in 2013!!

The Tedeschi Trucks Band just announced that they'll be playing in Australia from March 27 through 31, so the 2013 Beacon Run should be over by the 23rd or 24th.

Can't wait for the Beacon this March! We usually go on the last Saturday of the run but I think I am going to try to go on the first weekend -- just due to the fact that last year Gregg wasn't doing too well towards the end of the run.

Hey Guys,

just booked our flight from Europe (Germany), we will be in NYC from 10th till 19th of March.
I guess this should match a few Beacon Dates.
The dates are usually announced in january, right?
Whatīs the best way to get tickets? Just booking on the Beacon page or are there other possibilities?
Whatīs that Silver, Gold, Platin stuff about?

Best regards
Ragmac

Malignant,
You definitely will be in NYC at the right time and you are right about a January announcement. My recollection is early January. It may even sneak into late December. Ticket purchasing is a sore subject for many here. It is very difficult to get good tickets through Ticketmaster even if you are ready the instant that tickets go on sale. If you are not able to score tickets through Ticketmaster online you can wait and purchase through sites like StubHub. This is what I have done in the past. I am buying for a group and I can typically work it so that we are all very close together within 10 to 12 rows of the stage. You can wait to purchase until a few weeks from the show as the pricing will come down but we still end up paying around $300+ per ticket. If you have the cash I highly recommend getting as close as possible. There is nothing quite like it. I have never done the silver and gold packages so I cant give you info on that except I have seen others say you pay too much for things you don't need. I have also heard that when these packages don't sell out they release these tickets and if you are lucky you can snag great seats when they are released. Timing is everything. Glad you will be able to make it this year. Very exciting.

Thank you, Mustangbob.
I think, I will try to purchase tickets for one Show right when they are released, to be sure I have anything at least. Of course I will try to get as close as possible, after flying across the Altlantic Ocean to see the Allmans, it would be silly to try to save a few bucks on the tickets. And then I will look out on StubHub to get one or two shows extra.
The seating should not be a Problem, we are only two persons.

Best regards
Ragmac

I bought a silver package last year.
Seat's were pretty nice, i was just in front of the PA, so the best sound in the venue
Extra's are not worth it.
And it's a bitch to get since you need a valid US adress.

I ended up ordering it through a company i work with and having them fedexed to the Netherlands.

The second show i picked up via a third party website which i don't remember anymore.
Ended up getting screwed on the seats, paid for center orchestra ended up near the side walls.
But it didn't ruin our evening.

Flying out again this march for sure.
ABB in the Beacon & The Mule in Negril are best

Thanks, Malignant!
Negril is on my to do list!
But not Next Year. New York and Jamaica in the same year would be a bit to expensive and I donīt want to spend most of my annual holidays in the frist three months of the year.

2012 the shows started on the second Friday or March the 9th, 2011 the shows started on the second Thursday March 10th. Could it be then that this year the first show is Friday 3/1?

Last year the shows spanned just over 2 weeks. If they did the same this year they would end maybe 16th or 17th which would work well for TTB's Australian schedule.

Thanks for the interview link.

So if schedule like last year...

Fri 3/1
Sat 3/2

Tue 3/5
Wed 3/6

Fri 3/8
Sat 3/9

Tue 3/12
Wed 3/13

Fri 3/15
Sat 3/16 -or- Sun 3/17

I don't think they are playing 3 nights in a row any more, so last year's schedule of 2 on 2 off could be the same this year.

TTB has a show in Australia 3/23

thinking of heading down to catch a few shows - 1st trip to the Beacon run for me.

If I go, I'll be thrilled with whichever guests I catch, but my favorites are the jazz guys (ie Brecker, Evans) and the Jukes. Is there any pattern / way to predict?
