Listening to the 8.7.12 Boston Instant Live show, man oh man! Same Thing, Egypt, Dreams, Black Hearted Woman, Leave My Blues At Home, And It Stoned Me, what a night!

Gregg sounds so good, he seems to have a sense of urgency in his voice, belting out tunes with emotion, instead of going through the motions like he has the past few years. I know he has been ill, but this is the just amazing, he sings each song like every one matters. I know he has flubbed up One Way Out in some of the other shows this year, but who cares! I think he is taking advantage of his second chance in life.

I have 4 shows so far, Darien Lakes, Holmdel, Atlanta, and this show and I have to say, I could take or leave most of the ABB shows from the past several years, but these are just great, everyone is on fire it seems, each song, no throwaways, no ho-hum run-of-the-mill versions. My ipod only had shows from the 70s and '91 thru '94 on it until I got these, cannot stop playing them. This is the best they have sounded to me since the Warren/Woody years, actually, these 2012 shows may the best I have heard from them since the Brothers and Sisters era.

You're going to need to pick up the 8/11/12 show from the Peach Fest as well Wayne. Gregg and the whole band really nailed that one.

Glad to see you so enthused, hope you are well.

Ryan

Hey Ryan,

Doing great man, hope you and the family are as well.

I watched most of that one on Moogis, it is on my list! Loved These Days by Gregg in that one, what a song!

Well said Wayne. I thought the same thing after the Peach Fest sets. Gregg was really trying hard, on a mission, as was the energy of the band.

Terri, we only caught the ABB sets and a little of TTB, We looked around for you before the ABB set on Saturday. Denise's father is very sick and we spent most of our time at the hospital in Scranton and trying to arrange hospice services for him. Just back in CA as of late last night.

I only listened to the Jones Beach show and I was thinking the same thing. First time in a long time I think the summer tour outshines the beacon run. Some of those beacon shows have some painful moments to listen to and I think the best one is the one sans Gregg/ the closing night.

I'm glad Gregg seems to be on the mend. I wasn't this optimistic about the future of the band 5 months ago. Once again the ABB rises from a low point to surprise me.

I thought the best show I heard since 2009 was the Hep C show and now these summer shows seem to have surpassed that in quality of performance from just the clips I've seen/heard besides the Jones Beach recording.

I was at Peach Fest and the first night was really good. There were a few lyric flubs but nothing serious. Gregg sounded great. Hell it was almost 1am by the time they came on, and his voice did not sound tired at all. I was not prepared for Saturday night though. Yowza what a show. I didn't hear any lyrical flubs, Gregg was on point all night, the whole band was kicking maximum a$$, These Days, Mountain Jam, Dreams, a Whipping Post closer...damn. It was outta sight.

I was 5th row at he 8/7 Boston show. Gregg and band were firing on all cylinders. yes, the best Gregg sounded in years, lots of looks, waves and acknowledgment to the crowd the whole night through. The louder the crowd got, the more Gregg got into it. Came out strong, focused, no flubs, and second set Stormy Monday sent chills down my spine.

agree 100% on this tune.

I was about 15 rows behind you and would say that for all the blazing guitars and general top notch muscianship that we were lucky to see on 8/7, the Stormy Monday was maybe the highlight of all of it. Everyone on stage just nailed it, both in the playing and in the spirit.

Not to mention the set opener....sun is down...nice little breeze...freshly poured Harpoon in hand....yep, gettin' those chills again!

Let me pile on...both the Charlotte and Raleigh shows were outstanding as far as my opinion.

Gregg's voice was top condition both nights.

just got the Charlotte show, you are right, Gregg sounds great. But let me say Into The Mystic is magical! The interplay between Warren and Derek is nothing short of amazing, hope the Skynyrd crowd was able to appreciate it!
