I just watched Midnight in Harlem from Crossroads 2010(love that song)...and I guess I always bailed out on the video before the end because there was some voice over from Derek and Susan which kind of surprised me.

They were talking about Delaney and Bonnie and how Susan never made the connection between some of the players in that group and Mad Dogs and Englishmen. They talked about the Mad Dogs concept and how it may have been way ahead of its time etc..

It kinda surprised me that Susan and maybe to some extent Derek missed the boat on some of the music from back then.
Derek even commented that he was surprised that he missed it in his musical up bringing.

I just found it interesting and a little surprising.

I'm a huge classic rock fan in my mid 40s and I will join their chorus. I never listened to D & B or Mad Dgs either. Ya can't catch everything, even the well-regarded stuff.

Delaney and Bonnie, Mad Dogs & Englishman, Shelter People ... all put out some great music back when 60's turned into 70's. And yes ... surprised to hear that Susan and Derek missed the DB&Friends/MD&E/Shelter People connection given the artists involved.

I just got Mad Dogs a couple of months ago, the Deluxe version. It really is excellent. I have always loved Cocker.
