That is cool -- great idea, would think it'd prove popular
Don Sweeney is jumping right in with both feet -- & breaking the legs of the Bruins in the process IMO -- Lucic, Hamilton, Soderberg, gone, with only a couple fringe players & drafts picks coming back
Not much to look forward to from the Black&Gold in 2015-16, I'm afraid ____________________ "I know y'all came to hear our songs, we like to play 'em for you but without Gregg here it's really hard for us to do. Sure am excited for 3 on 3 OT hockey. Wish they could've taken the AHL rules of OT hockey.
Should be interesting to see where the UFA's will be signing. |

Me too! Although I'm not sure what is going on with my Bruins right now, its like Sweeney has come in and just started shooting from the hip. No idea what their plan/strategy is, if they have one. ____________________ I pledge and support the elimination of the derogatory use of the r-word from everyday speech and promote the acceptance and inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. http://www.r-word.org/ |

We had fallen all the way to page 6 but it is that time of year again.
My buddy was telling me how Chicago has no chance to win again because they lost people. I don't see it that way at all. Saad is great but hardly what puts a team over the top. Oduya played his part but always scared me anyway. Richards played his veteran role but his time is over and the Hawks know it otherwise would have given him a one year deal. Vermette was a rental and got some timely goals but again not a deal maker.
The core is still there provided Kane stays out of jail. The additions from the Saad trade will offset his departure. Van Riemsdyk will fill Oduya's spot and is better. Plus a couple of Russians that are ready to join the party.
Will be fun! Go Hawks Go. ____________________ Chicago Black Hawks - next season.

I’m really excited to see what my Wings will do. With the younger guys coming into form and with Blashill as the new coach, I think they are going to turn some heads this year. I honestly believe Babcock was starting to lose the room. It may be a bit of start and go without Datsyuk to start the season. I think they’ll be fine in the long run. May not get to the Big Dance or come home with the cup, but could sure ruin someone’s plans. |

that's a little too over the top for me (a lot actually), but all I care about is Let's Go Bruins

Even for my son's sports now they do baseline testing so they can compare if the kid gets his bell rung. Pretty funny when you compare back to when we were kids. Aside from the hits in hockey, we had games when you might be in 2-3 fights. I was always a better fighter than player.
The NHL will have a bunch of games with 3 on 3 OT in the exhibition games regardless of whether or not the game ends in a tie. A little strange but it gives fans/players a chance to experience it before the season begins. ____________________ Chicago Black Hawks - next season.

Awesome move by the league.
Can't imagine how -- aren't the team trainers supposed to be concussion spotters -- what can some hosehead watching from the stands see that trainers/teammates etc on the ice, can't?
A little too much of the MLB safety-first oh-dear-he-might-be-hurt attitude in this IMO
BUT -- ChiHawks are champs -- am sure many applaud this move too --
I love the expression on their faces when they learn that the game was once played without helmets -- & that there's FEW if any cases of any mental fallout/addled brains etc among those players because of it...

Right. Pro athletes should turn their brains to butter for our entertainment.
Trainers are pretty busy during games. They have a lot of things to watch out for already.

Gordie Howe and Stan Mikita might disagree, but they wouldn't understand the question at this point.
Derek Boogaard. Steve Montador. Bob Probert. They all wore helmets.
CTE is real. The head can only take so many blows.
And...remember, this is a league move. I don't think it would be a stretch that the management of a professional high contact sport saw the massive lawsuit that the NFL lost against former players with CTE symptoms. Placing concussion spotters at games is a way of mitigating risk in all sorts of ways. ____________________ "Live every week like it's Shark Week." - Tracy Jordan |

I don't see a chance of Kane facing anything. On the local news here in Chicago there are reports of negotiation between the accuser and Kane's legal team. Not shocked about that. ____________________ You got to go through hell before you get to heaven. |

Mikita was diagnosed w/Alzheimer's, something that doesn't involve blows to the head -- Gordie Howe had all his marbles up until a few short years ago, again from old age, not blows to the head -- Gordie issued those, not took 'em
I've yet to see an former great talk with scrambled brains during an interview -- never said they should turn their brains to butter for our entertainment --
I do understand that in a litigious society, this is the league's way of avoiding being sued -- as you said, that's what 100s of NFL players claimed the NFL never warned them about
no one can tell me those players didn't want to be out there, or that they didn't know football was a contact sport that could result in injury
so now the parade begins -- there's a check, shoulder comes into contact with head, spotter geniuses in stands say, we've gotta earn our $ ... get him outta there -- IMO it's not what the spirit of the game is about -- realize I'm a minority of 1 tho & that fighting will soon be a thing of the past -- like it or not, rightly or wrongly, it's been a part of the game since its inception
Best -- B's'll getya this year
