Yeah, why do you think that some really good seats are available? You don't mess with Big Red in Nebraska. The guy on the phone almost had a fit when I said I was from Iowa - LOL. Told him I went to Creighton (which I did) and he relaxed. LMAO

Yeah, Home/Season Opener the next day. Very surprising.

I wondered why such good seats were available and figured it out when I started looking at hotels and everything was booked.

Southern Miss isn't that small...

For all I know Southern Miss is the 3rd largest college in Mississippi

OK - I called & talked to a real person named Whitney (a ticket rep for the stadium). The stage will be pushed as far back into centerfield as possible. The field tix are for standing and are $165.00. The 1st & 3rd Base Berms $115.00 are a bit elevated and you can bring a blanket to sit on. I asked about lawn chairs and she wasn't sure but didn't think they were allowed- definitely are not allowed for games. The rest of the tix are $85.00 for any of the stadium seats. There are plenty of tix available for any level you want to go with. I'm old enough and have a crappy enough back to consider seats or the berms. No way I can stand all that time. There are video boards with closeups of the stage.

Hope this helps.
This is what I was understanding from looking at the ticket site, Kitty. I will probably go with one of the 85 stadium seats (100 section would be great - especially 109-112) then end up standing behind the back row so I can dance without disturbing people.

Attention Deb, Slimzimm, Yerry, Coot* and anyone else wanting to go...
Just bought tix by calling 1-877-464-2255. Front row, aisle seats, section 108 - right behind the dugout and in the shade. That whole section is basically still open if you want to call. $85 per ticket + fees was $174.00 for 2 tix - pick up at will call on day of concert.

[Edited on 7/24/2012 by KWidgeon]

Sounds good Kitty, but I'm going to call and try to verify about the chair situation for the $165 tickets. I want to be able to sit in a chair and muscle my way to the front of the stage if possible. If I can't bring a chair then I think I'll join you in section 108.

I think it's standing only on the field, but it doesn't hurt to ask. They also have a large video board for us people in the stadium seats.

Knowing this ballpark, it really doesn't make a lot of sense to pay $30 extra to sit on a blanket in the berm area on hard ground. Those seats will still be a long way from the stage. The actual ballpark seats are cheaper and prolly more comfortable I'd guess.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Actually, looking it up, Southern Miss has more students than Ole Miss, but less than MSU.

I just wanna go look at the girls in Oxford someday.

Been there one time. During the week. Went to a bar near campus and almost had to be put in traction I was turning my head so much.

Neyland on a Saturday can be quite interesting...
