as far as Crowes stuff, I enjoy most of it, but I thought "Lions" was kinda weak.
Not bad, just not that great.

I prefer the first few albums and I am in the court with the "By Your Side" folks.

"Warpaint" doesn't get much love from me. Although, the "Frost/Feeze" sets
were really good.

I like Warpaint. I haven't gotten the Frost/Freeze yet. Lions obviously don't stack up to Southern Harmony or Amorica, which are masterpieces, IMO. I just got Lost Crowes... I think they could have pared that down some, especially the "Band" part.

I do love "Another Roadside Tradgedy".

You have "Big Moon Ritual?" It's a must have. I can mail you a copy...

The "Lost Crowes" was an interesting release. I like the "Band" sessions more as most
of "Tall" more less appeared on "Amorica"

Frost/Freeze is awesome. I love that set.

Haven't checked out Chris' solo stuff yet.

I named Mango after a Jimmy Buffett song, that was about Capt Tony Tarracino

'The Last Mango in Paris'

15 years ago, I visited a shop in St Maartens called "The Last Mango in Paradise"
still have a hat I wear from there

For some reason, I never bothered to pick up Vol 9.
Lack of interest I guess

Furthur was fun and put on a good show. To all the people who were on tour next to me I dont care what happened in Chicago if it means u r talking over a quiet section (Jeffs killer keyboard playing between Unbroken Chain and Days Between). Any way left my ticket in the car so I missed the first two songs. The guy who bought me a coaster I say thanks and to the guy from Jersey you were a cool neighbor.

To some older Heads was Days Between a song that most people didnt like back in the day. Oh and driving home Dylans Modern Times and Janis Joplin Pearl on low volume was perfect for driving. And driving with a thunderstorm in the distance at night is sweet.

I named Pearl after Janis and her "Pearl" stage personna.

Pretty cool.

Very cool.

Listening to the Jack White solo album today for the first time. Sick talent this guy has, but, hmmmm. I never can figure out what I like or don't like about his music.

Got a slew of relatives coming in the next few days, some to KC for the first time. They all want BBQ. It's possible I'll be having BBQ 4 days in a row.

Sometimes I wish this town was famous for salad.

She's still in the exploratory phase...meds, waiting for MRI results, all that. I feel so bad for her.

Me, too. Once you've won that prize, it's yours to keep for life. They don't "un-herniate."

I'm currently eating a salad, but would rather be having barbecue. Considering going to the Bacon Festival at the Iowa State Fair...Iowa is a bacon lovers paradise....Mmmmm bacon. I love Hy=Vee's Thick Cut Peppered Bacon - it's to die for and may aid in the process, but I love it just the same.

OK, so as I hear it, Jack White is a child of classic rock. I hear Stones, Springsteen, Neil, Zep, Queen, Bowie. Definitely Bowie.

So is that a good thing or not? Is it merely copying the past or taking the foundations of past sound and moving forward with it in a "next generational" way?

Hmmmmm. Interesting stuff, music is.

I see him more as a punk-blues rocker.

If you've seen "It Might Get Loud" with him, the Edge and Jimmy Page, he has
a pretty good understanding of blooze and classic rock

He went for an alternative sound/style with the White Stripes but was more in the
classic blues rock vein with the Raconteurs

haven't had a chance to hear his solo album though
