Is there anyone who can tell me if Pittston is too far away from Montage Mountain and the festival to get a Hotel room there?? We have a designated driver and can drive, but would like to know how far it is from the Toyota Pavilion and if its a safe area, before we book the room I've found. It appears to be a really nice place for a VERY reasonable price. Anyone who knows the area with good suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Pittston is about 7 or 8 miles from the venue if it's on the eastern edge of Pittston. "downtown" Pittston is further. I-81 connects them and usually the trip is only a few minutes to eastern Pittston. It would probably take longer to get up the mountain to the pavilion than to get from highway exit to exit. Is the hotel on Rte 315? If so it's right off I-81. There's a Walmart there, some hotels, truck stop, restaurants etc. Try Dupont, which is also off 81 at the junction with PA turnpike 476. Dupont & Pitston border around that area.

Also, it's pretty safe. Most of Northeast PA is safe. Criminals know we carry guns.

Thank you so much....that helps A LOT ! I will go back and look at address and post it. Maybe you will be familiar with it......its sort of scary booking a hotel when you dont know the area and whether its safe or clean etc.

I know what you mean. I live in Scranton so if you post the address I'll let you know what's around it and about how far it is to the Mountain.
