I was in the front row in front of Warren. He was ripping it up Saturday night. He was bending notes that probably never recovered. It was fierce. "Larger Than Life," "Fallen Down," and "Since I've Been Loving You" were off the hook. "Sco-Mule" was incredible too, with Warren & Danny shooting volleys of notes and guitarface/keyface at each other. Warren just seemed to be in the zone and it was great. Jorgen is friggin' amazing too and follows Warren everywhere he goes, and sometimes leads the way. The whole band appeared to be having fun. I was worried about how it was going to be when they opened with "Shape I'm In" - it's ok, but it's a bit of a blah opener for me but the show really took off even for being a bit of a mid-tempo set. Great night of music.

I have pictures on my Facebook page if anyone wants to see them. I can't copy the link here since I'm at work and FB is blocked but click the FB link in my signature and you'll find them. I also posted a link in the Mule Army Facebook group.

It's almost a redundancy. Killer Mule show. It goes without saying at this point.

Agreed....watched/listened to the deepest end last week...Warren is truly special....in one man is captured the spirit and skill of what's left musically of the sixties/seventies....

We are indeed fortunate enough to have experienced him at the peak of his greatness with hopefully many more years to come.

I wasn't to keen on the New Years Eve show so this one was particularly excellent for me after seeing the Joe Cocker tribute. I'm not into Joe and not into Joe Mule. Moe Mule was pretty excellent though. Still, the Joe Mule show was better than what a lot of bands could do. I'm just not into it, hence I was a little worried when they opened with Shape I'm In. I was not in the mood for a Levon Helm tribute. I like the Mule hard, crunchy and loud. Boy did they deliver.

Any body know what "That's Why I'm Here" is or who does it?

I didn't recognize it when Warren was singing it and then it turned into "Tastes Like Wine" which he name-checked during "That's Why I'm Here" saying something about playing "Tastes Like Wine" for the 207th time. I thought maybe it was a new song.

That Blind Man In The Dark was off the hook! They were basically doing three songs at once. They started out doing Blind Man, broke into Pygmy Twylyte and while Warren was singing Ain't No Sunshine Matt and Jorgen were playing Blind Man and Danny was playing Pygmy Twylyte. As I said three songs at once, what other band does this?

I'm pretty sure it's a James Taylor song. I've seen both Warren and Mule play it and Warren changes the lyrics each time he plays it. In Jamaica 2011 the song was called "That's Why We're Here"

Nope , Steves rite again , it is Jame Taylor

That's Why I'm Here lyrics

Send "That's Why I'm Here" Ringtone to your Cell

Songwriters: SMITH, SHAYE/SPRINGER, MARK ALAN

Person to person and man to man
I'm back in touch with my long lost friend
Listen to reason and understand
And think of me from way back when
He said me and melissa well we fell out of love
We ran out of luck seems like lightning struck
I've been thinking of leaving but I can't raise a buck
James I'm wondering could I borrow your truck

I said that's why I'm here
Got no other reason
That's why I'm standing before you
That's why I'm here
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/j/james_taylor/thats_why_im_here.html ]
John's gone found dead he dies high he's brown bread
Later said to have drowned in his bed
After the laughter the wave of the dread
It hits us like a ton of lead
It seems "learn not to burn" means to turn on a dime
And walk on if you're walking even if it's an uphill climb
And try to remember that working's no crime
Just don't let 'em take and waste your time
That's why I'm here

This is an iou
I reckon' I owe you one now
Listen wendy and listen gloria
This'll be better tomorrow

Fortune and fame's such a curious game
Perfect strangers can call you by name
Pay good money to hear fire and rain
Again and again and again
Some are like summer coming back every year
Got your baby got your blanket got your bucket of beer
I break into a grin from ear to ear
And suddenly it's perfectly clear
That's why I'm here

This is the part about kitty and bim
He loved her and she loved him
Wake 'em up shake 'em up the middle of the night
Got to tell me everything's alright
He said that's why I'm here

That's right

That's Why We're Here>Hallelujah from Island Exodus II. The end of Hallelujah is cut off due to lack of memory on the persons SD card.
