Hilarious thread. Poor Cope was hideously out of place and atrociously bad that particular day.

I had never heard of him....but I was told that Sheryl Crow liked him and suggested to Eric to add him to the lineup.

Can't wait for the live double album of this!

This kind of krap is blasting outta everyone's car stereo when I'm fueling. The death of Western Civilization as we know it. EC must've dropped some acid to invite this clown.

Man! What lyrics!

( I think I'll go throw up)

I didn't watch the youtube, but I never understood the hatred here for Citizen Cope ever since the Crossroads 2010 DVD came out. Yeah, he looked high.........SO WHAT??
How many times to you think Gregg or Hendrix or Clapton were high onstage back in the day? I liked both songs he did on the DVD (one was on the Best Buy bonus disc). I thought he had tons of emotion. Yeah, it's not mainstream rock or blues......it's different.

I wasn't trying to be a hater. Not my personal preference but he wasn't bad. I was actually envious of his state of mind as i was standing there watching him forget his lyrics lol. Like I said, must've been some dank....

He was hideously out of place amongst a line up of world class upper tier guitarists. I've been to a lot of concerts, seen many fall flat on their ass, but it had been a long long time since I had experienced an utterly crowd deflating buzz kill like I experienced that day. Everyone around me was in stunned silence when he performed, He was atrocious. Kind of like watching your favorite football team blow a 21 point lead in the 4th quarter vibe to the crowd.

You hit the nail on the head. The full head of steam that was built collectively by the day's previous artists came to a screeching halt when Mr Cope took stage. At least John Mayer wasn't there...

Agreed. It was a complete musical buzz kill.
